Trying to create humanoids in 3d modeling programs is very hard for me. I like the concept of Poser, but it creates figures with too high of a poly count. Is there anything out there that lets you start with a basic low poly humanoid figure and modify it like Poser does?

You'd really be better off using someone elses character model and adjusting it, like the ones supplied with DBPro, that ninja model could be made into a swat guy for example. Most of the detail in low poly characters is in the texture, often you can get away with just skinning a model to make it completely different.

where can you download / get prog-mesh?

also, on Poser 3 go to the low-poly models.... I've exported them to 3ds and converted to .x which will load in dbro - unfortunately each .x is a single frame and you cannot directly export the animations in Poser 3... fileblock under the enhancements pack may be my salvation now...

So you're telling me poser is useless for...

-making high detailed characters for cut-scenes
-making high quality 3D models and capture them in 2D for any 2D game?

DBP game using poser

Every tool has a purpose, just trust me on that.

what i meant that if you have alot of poser created models on screen in your game it will really slow the game down

poser is fine for cut-scenes, apart from if your using a really highpoly model for a cut-scene and a really low poly model in your game , it will really look different
