I'm sure this has been asked before, but why do some .x models
with pure color look awful in DBP, and great in the modeler program?

What options should they be exported with? As a single mesh, normalize, triangulate all faces, as text?

Thanks.

It's more likely to be the object setup in DBPro, like the specular being too high as a default, the object needing smoothed, the ambient light being too high. Usually it's lighting, like you have to set the ambient light to about 40 before you even get decent shading . Just experiment, mess around with lights, make a little model viewer so you can quickly get your models looking like they should.
