I have managed to load my model into dark basic via animations in character shop but all my textures have disapeared.

ive looked at the .x file and can see were i can add the file names for my textures - this works but all the textures are in the wrong place.

can anyone tell me what part of the .x file tells it what limb gets what texture - the only difference i can see between the part of the file is the file name for the texture & the heading.

You can use a hex editor - or if your .X file is ascii, you can edit it in notepad quite easily, if you load it into notepad and it shows logical information (albeit complicated) - you should do a search for part of your texture filename, and simply edit it.

thanks ... ive found the part of the x file that says what texture goes to what limb. its a long list of 0,1,2,3,4's which co-respond to each texture ... however there is no titles next to them so im not sure which 0 relates to the arms ect.

is there a rule or order in which these should be in or is it a case of trial and error ?

I tend to leave the texture applying till last - I use characterFX for animation, so I load the mesh - then load the textures and apply them to the parts in that. It is very easy for your model to make duplicate textures or loose track of them because a lot of programs loose that information when importing - CFX makes great .X files for DBPro, so that's the logical place to apply the textures for me - maybe you should consider a final texture application right before exporting to .X.

What packages are you using?
