Can anyone tell me the best way to make heads with good looking faces, including mouth nose ears and such?

what app - i know there is max script somewhere on the web which creates heads

well basically you can box model a head, making it really low poly and apply meshsmooth on it, or you could just create a box model of the head then add the detail in the texture
