As announced by:
http://www.atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/

There is supposed ot be a demo out today. All i can say is gimme teh demo. As we wait we can talk about our favorite RCT moments.

My personal Fav was a coaster i had in RCT1, called "RC of no return". It was 2 coasters really. What happened was, it would be one of those small coasters that took you through one loops and then backwords. I set the speed to high on both coasters and sent them flying into each other (of course the never hit eachother but the way they landed made it look that way). I tell you that took away my "Safest Park" Award.

Chris Sawyer = genius. Transport Tycoon is arguably the best game ever on the PC.

Isn't this a game written by David Braben's Frontier Developments Ltd?

http://www.chrissawyer.com/ is the guy who did Transport Tycoon and Rollercoaster Tycoon (their inface is very similar).

I don't know what some large publisher has done with the update, probably gone and shipped it off to some 3rd party developer.

[looks on net]

I found this on his web site

Quote: "RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Announced !
Atari have announced RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, to be released for the PC in autumn 2004.
Developed by Frontier Developments in conjunction with Chris Sawyer, the all-new game will include features such as fully rotatable 3D views and more detailed guests.
Read the full announcement here..."

What's the big deal... it's just a tycoon sim game . Isn't this sort of like flipping out about the latest Madden?

Rather slow - and it crashed on me...

Its a real pain designing your own rides as well...

Plus, whilst some graphics look good - this didn't :

People need more than 20 minutes to evaluate a product.

Why not make it 30 days?

You get 45 minutes for the demo, and you can start again anyway. The game is being made by David Braben who also made Elite. Chris Sawyer is involved as being an advisor. The engine is pretty good, with realistic water, and plenty of lights all over the place. The 3D is quite detailed apart from the peeps. You can add your own MP3's to the rides. You can build a coaster and ride it, and you can ride all of the other rides as well. You can watch the peeps, and they have amazing AI. They will actually walk up to each ride, and sit down in a realistic way. The will walk around as a family, and argue about which ride to go on. They will insult the entertainers. Entertainers will dance around, play dead, and a scarecrow guy will take his head off, and bounce it off an onlooker.

This game is top class!
