Geek Culture / VC++ .NET problem / question

I'm going through a tutorial using VC++, but I've run into a problem.

I make a new project, and right-click on it and go to "Properties".

in the left hand side, there are several options, which should be: "General", "Debug", "C/C++", "Linker", etc...

my system is completely missing the "C\C++" section... but everything else is there!!

I need the C/C++ section so I can add extra include directories for my project (but not globally).

anyone know why this section could be missing??

As far as I can tell, the only way that would be possible is if you didn't create a C++ project. When you create a new project in .NET you have about a hundred different templates to choose from, make sure you're in the 'Visual C++ Projects' Directory on the left of the dialog and then select the correct one on the right.

Other then that, I wouldn't have a clue. I'd suggest trying a fresh install except installing VS .NET takes like an hour.

having vs.net doesnt mean you have c++ too, do you?

I resolved the problem. I was choosing a C++ win32 project, but I had a completely empty project. adding a single .cpp file made the C/C++ part magically appear
