Here is multi jointed model that I made in Doga L3

If you know something about modeling figures in metasequoia, you CAN make impressive models for use with Doga.

I'm making this thread mostly for Zircher's sake because

A.) I wanted him to know that there is at least 1 other person who finds doga more than useful

and

B.) He made (I got them from his forum) half the objects I used to make him.

Pretty neat stuff. Unfortunately, DoGA's multi-joint format does not export to any common game formats as far as I know. With a little research and study of the text files, you might be able to build a conversion tool. I tend to use the posable models for building complex scenes for still renders, animated sprites, and the like. You can export the geometry to economical programs like Milkshape 3D or Character FX and do some animation there that can be exported to game formats.

If you're looking for extra functionality out of DoGA L3, one of the things that I like to do is use it to create blended textures and masked images.

yeah.. I hadn't even thought about the game animating part.. I'm using it for movies. although it wouldn't seem very difficult to export it to an animator program and use it for a game model as well

this one is a little high poly for that, though unless you can pre render characters.

its 8000 polys.

I'll be posting a short movie of him in action as soon as its finished rendering

doga is a japanese program.. so the help is a little limited, but you'd have me and zircher to assist in that department.

It cost me $40

The textures I usually make with "Texture Maker" a program that can be purchased for $69 from The Game Creator's site.

DoGA CGA's web site is posted up in the sticky thread on modellers. It's shareware and pretty much a freebie for game modellers, if you want to render movies, L2 is $20 and L3 is $40. L3 is the most capable of the bunch.
