I agree, it looks like its coming along nicely. Out of curiosity, who did the concept pic, or is it from something?

looks pretty good. There a serveral optimizations you could make. You could probably bring it down to around 700 (not sure as i havent seen the back). Personally I would like the see the ears reshaped to match the reference better. You could probably just grab all the outer verts and bring them up a ways. Also I think a larger nose/bridge and smaller mouth would look good.

oh also. You might want to add some geometry to the palms and back of the hands. Right now if you tried to animate them you would see some pretty nast puckering.

i froggermon, youre right about the mouth and ears, althoug i think im not gonna change the mouth cause i wont him to have a big smile, dont know yet, ill try bought your opinion and compare, about the geometry to the palms and back of the hands, im sorry im foreign, i dont understand what do you mean ? it has a vertice on both (palm and back)

Yes, it does look nice.

Personally, I like that big smile (though its not textured yet, and that might change my mind), but I do agree with Froggerman about the nose and the ears.

Other than that, I think its great. Very nicely done, matches the concept pretty good. (I also like that concept a lot too )

holy freakin sheep!!!!!! that model is more awesome than i expected!!!! that is seriously just how i wanted that goblin to look out of that picture, the picture isnt mine i found it on the internet as some concept artwork by the guys who made a hq pc game, gourgan brothers or something, they have a logo print in teh top corner of that artwork. The ears could do with a little vulcan at the top, but leave the mouth the way it is, it fits teh picture style perfectly, i will texture it with big teeth all yucky and gobliny. and dude thanks that is the most awesomeest goblin i have seen!

well, you like it ? i didnt, i wasnt satisfied, it had to many flaws and didnt look like the concept, after a long night of critics from some guys at gamedev who told me where were the models flaws, i finally got it right, to mach the concept !

hmm, not tooo sure about those last few pics, as i said the one sfrom before were awesome, the ears at teh moment are too curvy, they curve out too much, i reckon the old ears were good but just needed to be pointy at the top, and as for the boots ont eh newer versionthe top of them seem stoo puffy, seriously don't listen to those guys at game dev, they sound like fools btu anyway im still very impressed with your work, you've done an excellent job, just make those boot straps boot straps a lil less puffy and im sure it will be fine.

In the second picture, the goblin wouldnt be able to bring his legs close enough together to walk, he would kind of woddle (spelling?) around like a duck. In the first picture the boots are smaller which would let him walk more realisticly.

I like the first one better

i agree, although i think the first boots are too fragile, goblins have big feet has the one looking left in concept shows us, so i just tapped a little is boots but mantained the second pic look, anyway, im going for the second pic, its more professional, althoug i can understand that some of u say the 1st better.

yeah, where you have pointed out the what you call errors, i can see what you mean with the sleeves on the shirt, and the rounding at the boots, but i just thing teh overflap on the boots on the second one is too big, maybe scale it down a little, and im still not too big on the curve of the ear, maybe try just making the tip of the ear of the first one pointed. still they are both great models. Also with the boot straps boot straps (sorry i keep referrign to that potc quote) make them join up to teh boot a bit more, seeing as they are folded down tightly over the boot irl dont have them so flared at the bottom.

I agree about what Rob is saying about the ears. Though I like the extra detail in the shape in general, they do seem too curved. In the concept, they look fairly straight compared to what you have in the second pic. Unless your going off the goblin on the right (in the concept) but I think he's just at an odd angle anyways.

if you look into the top of the boot you can see white space...besides that (and the ears) the new one is better...

just make those little poofy things attach to the leg, and lower the top of the ear a tad and it should look better...

I cant but good to see that it's coming along nicely, when you get the uv map done send it accross an di will see if i can get a nice texture for it. unless u want to do it, or we can both do it it doesnt matter, i might want a few diff skins for the model, to signify a few diff goblins.

nice work on teh texturing too, though i might add some detail to teh greenskin myself when I get hold of the model, and holy crap you're animating it too! or you just readying it for someone else to animate, cause if you are gonna animate try just doing a walk thing, then if you want to do full animations talk to me so i can give you a list of what im looking for. and uhh i have to ask, whats that third long bone for

thanks a lot guys, the third bone is the main model bone, wich controls model's bones general orientation, also usefull for positioning and ataching it for instance, a chariot or horse. Im arranging my netscape bookmarks , been doing it for 3 hours, arshhh, only get half of it, then ill need to reweld soem models stuff cause in animation the shoulders get messed up , ill get the model bonned and bonne assignes later tonight. ill do running animation.
