Right here are the details for the competition:

Does everyone know what command and conquer games look like? If not you can download a demo of generals from their site:
http://www.eagames.com/official/cc/generals/us/home.jsp

Once you know how the games look and feel then you can start on the competition.

The challange:

You must create a game that looks and feels like command and conquer. You must have at least 1 soldier unit, 1 tank and at least one building. The tank must be able to fire and move to a specific position. The 1 soldier unit only has to be able to move.
The building can be freely placed whilst in the game or it can be preplaced (part of the map).

If you need free 3d models you can use the website:
http://www.3dcafe.com go to the 'Free Stuff' area at the top of the page.

You can make an AI team but it is not essential. If you can build a command and conquer type HUD you can but again not essential and you must have a Start screen and a pause screen.

Difficult? Well you may enter in your game for the comp at the begining of November. The competition will go for 1 month.

Near to the end of novemeber the top 5 entries will be submitted to a public vote and the one with the most votes wins.

Any questions, please post them here or email me.

I am now making a website (which i said i was doing) which you can view whilst it is under construction.

Go to my website and then click on the C & C Generals Bunker Link. The competition link (well all of them) are still under construction so please bear with me

lol, i thought it would be good to get the users vote rather thatn rely on what the judges think. Games are for everyone so why not get everyone to vote on it??

i think the judges should act on the users votes, but not just on the users votes, then its more safe and i dont have to bribe everyone

I would apreciate it if you emailed me with your name and email address if you intend to enter so i have it on record. I will not share this email address with any third party and it will be destroyed from my system the minute the competition ends. Please email all details to support@superchiefsoftware.com. All emails must have the subject line of 'Comp'

in answer to a common question you all have:

All entries must be in by the 20th of November. You can start programmig now if you like just so long as you meet that dealine. If you are unable to meet it then please inform me. if i have enough people say they won't be able to meed it, i may extend the dealine.

Just a small notice to all those who said they would enter, you must hand your name and entry in before the 20th of november.

I will soon be posting names of the people who have entered on the website. If you do not wish to see your name on the website, please tell me prior to Monday.

I will also be going on holiday from the 13th of october to the 20th of october (with my Fiance) so i won't be able to answer any questions within that time. Anything you need answering, please email me before then.

I'm entering, because I love RTSs, but I wont have anything like AI

I plan to have:
     Unit creation
     All units will shoot
     Animation (amazing for me!!!)
     All units will be controllable
Additional stuff I hope to have:
Shootable enemies (that dont fight back )
Building creation (without choosing where the buildinds go )

Anywho...I've made good progress...

Also forgot to mention that the winner will be granted an exclusive membership to my new DarkBasic RTS website.

I don't know yet but they may also be asked if they want to join my RTS game creation team

BUMP: A Quick Question

As said already it's a C&C remake but how far to we have to follow the game. For example, just the GUI and the way troops are created, etc. It would be useful to know because I have some amusing plot and unit ideas involving monkies and shows

It will work to your advantage to go a little further than the challange suggests but it isn't essential.
