got this image from the net and decided to model it ,

i dont know whats happening, im modelling addict, 3 days, 3 different models, what you think of it guys ????

is jacket is closed and his gogles on, this is for texturing and polygon quantity reasons, althoug im gonna model is gogles again to fit the concept more properly, besides that ? what u think ? plz review it, c&c's needed

Can you make a model for me(I won't use it it in a game. Maybe a tech demo)?

It's ok, but it needs to be fatter.

not a bad go at it, but you'll need to extrude teh front chest to make the folds in his jacket etc. and yeah maybe a little plumper

ilya: ye no problem, what you need ? do you have concept art ?

Uberwiggett robx: the folds and jacket detail will be with texture, no need to use polys on that, maybe ill extrude the pockets only, i still need to redo is gogles and make the top of the jacket, i think the problem is not being shorter, its his head that needs to be bigger, what you think ? , well gona model and post soon.

A model of a dragon.
I prefer it to be textured and optionaly boned.
It's a sprite from a game(so I have concept art).

whoa !!! never did a dragon before, seams hard !!! great !! , send me the beast sprite, try find aditional dragon pics for me to have better reference.


here is the new bob, its getting niceeeeeerr right ? whatcha_u_think_guys?

thinks that i still dont know if gonna change: 1- make is belly fater ? 2-get is aircut changed ?

so is teh model good or it sucks ? (wich probably is the 2nd anwser)

well not too bad there, i was gonna say enlarge his chin, see how his head is rounded in an anime style, might have to blob his head somewhat, also increase his nose, and i'd say go with putting the goggles on his head like in the concept, and make him some eyes, prolly look better overall. still nice work, keep it up. oh and where his neck meets his body looks a lil squished, i know he has no neck int eh concept, but raise the jacket edges to give him a collar of sorts cause it looks a lil iffy. and hey with a few changes and texturing this guy could be easily turned into a dwarf for my game

uhh yeah i see, thats better, though make the bottom of his chin a bit mroe rounded, and also his nose needs more bulb. still good work. i cant believe 3 days ago you were all like, "i suck at modelling, sorry guys!"

well i gotta tell ya dude of the three models you've plopped out of that machine of yours, top notch work, and they aren't even hug eon the poly's, thats what i loved about the goblin you made, i made two swords for the elf character and they equalled 1000 poly's, and they look nothin special, an dyour goblin only had 772 seriously even van b in the hq thread said it was an awesome model, (and van -b is pretty up there with db users ) but seriously keep up teh good work, way better than anything i can do it took me several months till i realized there was an extrude button, and im still getting used to it.

Hhmmmm, I'm afraid I cant be as kind as I was last time. A little critique my good man. Take it with a grain of salt and you'll have a sweet looking model!

The model just doesnt seem to match the image. Here's a few things that caught my eye:

1.In the image the man doesnt have a chin, in your model the chin
is well defined.

2.The shoulders and neck area are way off from the picture.

3.He doesn't have a pelvis

4.The legs are oddly shaped.

your orc model was sweet. It looked darn close to the refrence. And I doubt I could have pulled off that poly count. I would have made it 900 atleast. ( I like the polys. ) So I know you can make this model just like the image. So dont take the easy road!

But just looking at that image, I know Bob would be a hard model to tackle. Just try to achieve the same silloette as the image.

Keep at it! And keep us posted. I want to see this guy finished and textured!

how can i embrasse this problem, he does not have chin but in concept his 3/4 p.view, wich means i can have a chin ? what to do, im really troubled with this one.

nah cause if he has a chin its hidden under that puffy white scarf that goes around his neck, but his head is anime and is basically round, so there shouldnt be a chin formed. try adding in the puffy bit as polygons too.

yeah look sbetter upstairs, but the shirt shouldnt be the one piece downstairs, if you're going for the picture but yeah looks nice., just move the goggles or atleast add the bit that joins them so his eyes dont look so troubling

eheh hey no one replies to my hq post anymore even though i put up new model pics etc and more work but it just takes a few days to get a god flow of people in, its just not everyone lives on the forums, i do cause im sick nad have nothing better to do than make video games . Anyway good work on the model, looks nice, now just needs some texturing. Have you textured your models yet? cause i tried using that uv map thing and i got confuzzled. but im sure with your knowledge and skill in 3d modelling you can pick it up easy. good luck with the rest of your modelling dude (cant wait to get my hands on mr goblin )

im really sorry hamish, im having problems with messenger in my mother pc, anyway i have some chess models done, ill work on that tomorrow cause i gotta instal 3dsmax in my new pc, and gotta set up some stuff and hardware, today in here (portugal) is sunday, after tomorrow (thursday, duhh,lol), ill get in touch with you in messenger and send you the models, ok m8 ? really sorry !
