The Cure was in Mexico City making a BIG 3 day show (broke some sales records) and of course I was there, and now the Pet Shop Boys are coming too.

How Cool.

Oh wow, the Pet Shop Boys! I saw them play in a concert once!

No, wait, I lied. I, nor anyone else, has ever heard of the Pet Shop Boys.

Really? Must have been a comeback gig then; they were massive in the 80's. And anyone who has never heard of them was probably in nappies or less when they were around.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Whoever said AFI needs to go home and listen to some good music. I hate when the The Cure get labeled with that kinda style. Yes they had goth-like times, but have you ever listened to Taking Off or Close To Me?

Obviously you're an idiot. The only good music is my music and if you disagree, you need to go listen to some good music.

the cure was/is a classic cool goth/alt/indie band, dont like the pet shop boys much tho.

Id like to see joydivision / new order if they ever get there stuff together again.

I wouldnt mind seeing underground again, they have a great stage setup and when I last saw it a visual FX group in the uk called tomato did the visuals.

Saw Prodigy once in a mini club in Sydney, that was awesome.

as for calling people idiots, Id be concerned about losing your priveledges as a moderator.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself

The Cure is pop. Yes, back in the '80s they were THE goth band (and their stuff off Pornography, Faith, and Disintegration is still some of the music that defines the goth genre). However, if you really listen to them they're just a post-punk group that writes great pop songs like "Close To Me", "Just Like Heaven", "Lovesong", "Friday I'm In Love, "In Between Days", "Why Can't I be You", and "Pictures of You". So I guess they'd be the only real pop/goth band in existence (as in they're a goth band that does pop for satire but instead does real pop because they love it). Also, Robert Smith has been trying to shake the "Goth" label for years (but we'll never let him ).

the Pet Shop Boys are pretty ok. they're the only band ever that has made a decent remix (2 actually) of a Rammstein song. even though none of there other stuff is even close to that style.

if you want, you can hear a 30 second sample of the remix here:
http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk/store/mp3s/ramm_meinteil_trk2.mp3 (270kb)
or you can get the full song here:
http://www.lucidintegration.com/Mein_Teil(You_are_what_you_eat_mix).mp3 (2.4mb)

well, most of it isn't in english because, duh, Rammstein is a german band that sings primarily in german...but there's a translation here:
http://herzeleid.com/en/lyrics/reise_reise#mein_teil

Mein Teil is a good song, why bother to remix it?

Personally i like the CD's "Mutter" and the new one "Reise Reise". Don't mind "Sehnsucht" though.

Mein Teil is a great song... i was just saying that the Pet Shop Boys are the only band to ever make a good remix of a Rammstein song. other bands have tried and fail horribly

personally, i like everything by Rammstein
and i have every song they've ever played in public, including "Jeder Lact", "Biest", and "Pesnja O Trevozhnoy Molodosti"
and the "Amerika" video is the greatest music video ever

Rammstein is my favorite band, followed by Kreator, Tanzwut (Corvus Corax), Eisbrecher (Megaherz), and In Extremo. hmmmmm... maybe i should move to germany

If you want fresh underwear in the morning, take it off the night before.
