Hey,

We're looking for a decent point & shoot digital camera for under $200. This seems to be the best (almost only) one I've found in that price range, it actually looks pretty good. But if I'm missing a gold mine, I'd appreciate any camera gurus pointing me in the right direction .

yeah i was about to say the psc 340? or some number i cant remember, in australia its around $300 (btu due to you being in a foreign country it works otu to your $200 mark). they are good camera's, i got my brother's one here (oh just found it, the dsc-p32 i think is the number, its a lil old but the newer version is around your $200 mark.) yeah teh one you have listed looks like the same product line. i'd recommend it as it's darn simple to use and takes some great looking shots.

Thanks for that ! Sounds good. I noticed it's a slightly lower tech version of one of their best (rated) sellers. I can live with 10cm min range instead of 6 .

no worries,yeah it's not top of the line, but for a standard camera its damn god, and you're getting almost ten more tenths of mega pixels better than my one. so go for it, they're good cameras

I have a Fujifilm Finepix a204 (2 mpixel), great camera, the only downside is the XD memory cards for it, I would have prefered SD since i have several gadgets that already use SD, would have made things a little simpler, can`t fault the picture quality though and it has optical zoom as well.

[EDIT] I am told that rechargable cameras can be a pain, they normaly give out just when you want them, I was told you are better having a camera that takes rechargable batteries, that way you can have several spares in your pocket so that you can replace them if they run down at a vital moment.

PC1: P4 3ghz, 1gig mem, 3x160gig hd`s, Radeon 9800pro w cooler (3rd gfx card), 6 way speakers.
PC2: AMD 2ghz, 512mb ram, FX5200 ultra, 16 bit SB.
Mini ATX cases suck.
