are there and good free sprite makers out there and if not yuo about some nicely priced ones?

eh not really, making sprites in photoship is a pain^_~ Try the gimp, that should work really nicely for sprites..

Sprites are just images (no matter what anyone says to the contrary! they are technically just images) - so use an image editor you feel at home with. Paint, PSP, Photoshop, ProMotion, etc.
