calagari is running deals like that all the time. If you sign up for there mailing list they will practically spam you with offers. These are educational versions and cant be used commercially(I got both 4.3, and 5 this way). Not that it matters for the people on this forum, almost nobody here will ever do anything commercial.

You can get a 1 year educational license for 3dsmax for around $100 also. I think lightwave, and Maya can be bought that way too. Also, you can download Maya PLE or Gmax.

In my book your better off just buying a student version of Max..

If you're talking about Caligari TS, then you can use your work commercially in these programs. I'm 99% sure of it, for I e-mailed them when I got my copy of Truespace 5.2. This was nearly a year ago though, so the policy may have changed.

Agreed.

Ok I got you.

Usually better off buying from original makers anyway.

Educational versions cost 99-149 but you can get commercial version
for 99-149 in most of thier deals. I thinking on buying TS in the
future but I want TS6.6 + RayPack + 2 courses and there was once a deal
like that so I will wait untill I have the money and untill they will do that deal.

I'm probably going to wait till Christams and see if they have this: TS 6.6 + 4 Packs + Video Tuts

The default editor is fine.

While milkshape is nice, it's not the most powerful tool. (Not to mention, milkshape never goes on sale, so there's no point in watching that 25$ price tag)

trueSpace6.6 (SRP $595) includes non-linear animation, Subdivision Surfaces, NURBS, Geometry Paint, and more - all the tools you need to free your imagination and streamline your workflow! This is our flagship product, ideal for those who want more, and to go with it we will even include the "Getting Started With trueSpace6.6" video course, normally worth $79!

But it gets more extreme than that! We are also letting you pick one Pak (usual value $199 each) to go along with your copy of trueSpace. The Paks are a great way to extend your creativity as they contain the best-of-the-best in third party plug-ins, and each Pak focuses on one area so that you can pick the one you want and expand your trueSpace in whichever direction you want to specialize and advance in! One thing to be frightened of - these offers only last until the end of November 9th, so be sure to act fast!

Im seriously thinking about going for this, it's a great deal, they take checks, and over the phone order's too.

Its a great deal but you can't choose the gamPak and the video
"Getting Started With trueSpace6.6" was given away for free once
so what you get is tS6.6 + one pak in $300. There were better
deals then that. In my opinion rayPak is the best.
in dePak there are just too many plugins and some of them don't do much.
aniPak is nice but its just too much animation Im not planning to
make TS my mian modeling program.
fxPak is also great but PPX cost only $30 and trueParticles is already
a part of tS6.6 so you get only 5 plugins :\

In conclusion rayPak is the best pak for me

Yeah i bought 6.6 with the depack, ill pick up the other packs next month, i don't really see the need for the gamepack if you get the depack, the only benifit is the extra file exports and tutorials on how to load your models in quake and other fps game. I normally only use .x so i would have no need for the other file formats and im not going to do any mods, so depack seemed like the way to go for me.
