Quick note to Hamish: The Docking Station is currently only 45% done. I've only been able to work on it 1 hour a day. Just to verify, I split the geometry into 2 parts, each with thier own lightmaps. Hope it works in your level editor thing.

Yes its a space station type thing complete with a control rooms, storage area, and a place where people "park" thier ships. (Thats the only part of the level left to do) Yeah I was planning to use some prefabs but Hamish said things like crates, ammo boxes, and weapons can be inserted via the editor, so I'll take care of that aswell.

But if it's possible, I would really appriciate a small hover craft /spaceship type vechile I can place in the docking area, and a small railing for catwalks (I have trouble building small things like that in my editor) if you can't make the ship, steal one from turbosquid. It'll work great

EDIT: Unfortunatly, I have no access to my computer on weekends, so expect to see the level done Tuesday.

Sounds like a cool level. I'll look into the spaceship model, but im not sure what type you want as i have no reference.. Some star wars type (Star fighter) or somthing along the lines of real life. As for the railing, i can do 2 types of railings.. One short one long ect...
Btw, we will need some one to texture them. (Not sure if you can or not)

Looking forward to you level

Maybe something like this if possible:

or

Although the more round one looks alot cooler, you can take a shot at the second if you want...

Don't worry. Just send me both, I'll handle the texturing.

thanks

i decided to base my model on the puddlejumper concept instead of actually replicate it because it is likely to be used in x-trade's space sim so if i loosely base it on it it is easier to modify to suite design aspects required for the game.
my wings don't fild out like the puddlejumper's, they are on pistons but i may replicate the puddle jumper too, just for the practice (and to put in megaton's docking station).

So e-mail Rich and see why. Now can we please get back on topic seeing as the same exact thing happened to my last Screen Name (dj blackdragon). The HUD is coming along well. I think i'm going to make 2 versions and have everybody vote on it when they are done. One will be kind of a metalic type and the other one will be more Hi-tech.

mm0zct: Don't worry you don't have to make one. I'll work something else out.

Bah. I was planning to show some level screens but the level got so large, that the lightmapping takes an hour and a half (and I'm having trouble lightmapping it because I can only work on the level 1 hour per day). Gota move on to plan B...

Hamish, I've just finished version 0.5 of the plugin, go check it out:

You can do away with the call dll commands now

You know what, with that version of Multisync I managed to accidently add a very silly bug. Basically when a client disconnects, the server sort of shuts down winsock..

Anyway thats fixed now, thank god. It was all a very simple mistake really, just a matter of a function call inside the wrong function. I must pay more attention to what I'm doing

The download is in the same place as always(see my last post). At the moment I'm slowly coding a complete rewrite of the DLL, and I think it'll be pretty good. It'll have things like support for usernames, userlists(so clients can see eachothers details such as username and ID number), string sending, message IDs, etc. I think I'll post in game design theory about it some time to gather some ideas from people.

Nice one Megaton, looking forward to it muchly .

Benjamin - Lol, so that was why everyones program shut down when one closed the game . I'll be upgrading to 0.5 as soon as possible.

mm0zct - From this angle it looks like a cylinder with bits on. Maybe it needs more shape at the front? I'm not sure it could just be the angle.

Technicaly the puddle jumper isn't supposed to be anything extremely spectacular.

Well I suppose I have no choice but to post screenshots of my feeble progress...bear in mind that the lightmapping quality is very low (I did a quick test render) and I'm still missing a crapload of crates which I will then put in via another editor so those large empty spaces wouldn't seem so lonly.

And I know I said it'll be a space station but...that didn't exactly work out so I tryed something else.

Heh thank you for the kind omments everyone. The level is now complete (Although not very big, but more game levels will come)

Hamish, all I need to do now is place the crates in the positions I wanted, so it'll be great if you can send me a user-friendly copy of the editor that idiots like me can understand.

And lastly it'll be great if you guys can post ideas for different interior-urban type levels.

Probably not...the red lights are part of the lightmap. For a glow or flicker effect we would have to use pixel shaders. Sorry.
