Yes, I've been a member there for a couple years now (has it really been that long?!) and there are some mighty good folks there. Many of them are pros and show their work there before it gets released. And most people there are quite friendly and helpful, so if you've got a question to ask, they usually will explain stuff to you.

The Solar Voyager website is also worth a look for anyone working on a space based game.
