Kerry is ahead in the popular vote (slightly [I think]), Bush is ahead in the electoral college-- but it's too early to know for sure because we don't yet have info on several crucial swing states.

in seriousness, Kerry should win because Bush already had four years to screw up in office, now it's the democrats' turn to f*** up the country--it's only fair

that entire statement is messed up. Democrats screw our country over more than republicans, and in 1yr they could screw the country up as much as bush "did".

they lost, and nader lost, and every small party lost. Rightys and leftys are left. I was hoping nader would win, just for a funny experience, too.

I'm sorry but Bush just reminds me of a chimp.

[edit] Plus Bush said on an environmental meeting on cspan (i think it was)
"It's not the polution that is causing the problems. It's the impurities in the air and the water." Now how do you suppose he thought those "impurities" got there.

Quote: "Wow, is it just me or is Kerry's head totally like two times larger than Bush's on that picture to the left? And what are they doing standing next to each other anyways?"

It's because they used 2 different photos and stuck them on the one image, clearly, Kerry's photo would have been taken much closer and as such, the crazy effects of perspective have made it appear larger.

Interestingly only one state thus far has voted differently to 2000, the tiny state of New Hampshire.

Tiny? But very important ... yeah, it's been a bloody pain living here with the community as divided as it is. Bush signs on one yard, Kerry signs on another, neighbors shooting each other dirty looks... people even got together based on their political party for Halloween trick-or-treating .

It looks like it is going to all come down to Ohio. Whoever wins Ohio wins the presidency. There also seems to be about some 200,000 provisional ballots out there for Ohio that need to be counted. Bush currently has a lead of about 125,000 votes in Ohio. It looks good for Bush, but only time will tell.

My take on this is Kerry's being his usual scummy lying self. He knows he's lost-- the analysts predicting Ohio's outcome are backing Bush as much as the statistics for the rest of the states are. He said he wanted it finished on election night no matter who won. Now he's going to drag this pathetic mess out eleven more days. The bigger they are...

Ohio is definately the decider in terms of overall; and that is on the hairline according to both News24 and SkyNews.

This said there are still 2 more states (New Mexico and dunno the other) yet to be tallied into the equasion.
Earlier in the nite it looked that Kerry wasn't going to catch up, but really from the looks of it, now it seems more about 'every vote counts' right now.

although Bush was at leading something like 10% earlier when 80% of the votes had been counted that lead is now down to 2% in Ohio.
people might be calling it now, but honeslty i think this is pretty tense and i don't even give a damn who ends up in office; so god knows what the candidates feel like.

With so much of the country against Bush, I wonder what will happen after the election.

In any case, if Kerry does win it will be an unfair victory, because he is 3mn votes behind in total.

'So much of the country' is against a president in every election but a landslide. It's like this every time. People just learn to get along afterwards. He's not going to get impeached-- Clinton was far more than 50% hated by the end of his last term and the discussion of impeaching him never really went anywhere, there's no way it will with Bush.

It bothers me slightly that Bush is declaring victory already. It's a safe assumption but not fair politics. On the other hand, he's a politican, so what did I expect

Mouse he's just trying to pull the same bullsh*t he did in 2000, its gonna came down to one state and a long drawn out thing, so he's trying to just "declare" himself the winner, just like any good psycho dictator would. Kerry should do the same and just start moving into the white house, have the wife start picking out curtains and stuff

lol....that is said you have to say that.....because Kerry was probably SO confident that he would win, that he told his wife to buy all the stuff for the white house, and now that he is losing/lost, there is no need for those items.

That'll be one expensive garage sale.

Kerry's got like 1/2 a billion dollars anyway, it's hard to be peeved at anything with that sorta bank balance. Personally I think it'd be great to get an average Joe in the Whitehouse , someone who stands to loose something if they mess up.
