Right, for my next project, I have decided to take the sequel route.

My game design:
2 players, one can swim, the other can skateboard
8 levels, 4 themes
baddies, coins, things to save and people to talk to... the usual stuff

It would be a team dynamic kind of thing, the player would switch to Dumbo, swim to a button, press it and then open up a jump for Cool on his skateboard - too big for Dumbo to jump...

I've never seen anything like this done in DB, but I've put the idea up in this thread before - thoughts?

I like it!

I think your team dynamic idea is a very good one and could provide quite a variety of puzzles, etc. to be solved.

Would this be single player only?

Because being able to play this kind of game multiplayer would be great!

I know I've played something like this before, but I haven't the foggiest where?

Damn my aging brain!!!

Yep, a single player kind of thing.
You'd press CTRL to switch between them, ala Munch's Oddysee.

Like I said, sounds great, I just thought I'd throw in the multiplayer idea as a, well...idea.

Hmmm...

Stupid aging brain!

Head over Heels? that was the original game afaik, search the net for it, it involved two guys, one could handle stuff and the other could run and jump, Isometric thingy on the Speccy, they could join to form a full person (who could run/jump and handle things), or split up to solve puzzles, or something like that.

Spectrum?

Never experienced the machine before. I was thinking of something else which is still bugging me to this day.

Sounds interesting though.

Lost Vikings? Or, that family of aliens game someone made for the Alienware comp? Those were along these lines, and good lines they are! Does that make sense? Uh... yeah tis a good way of making a game. Allows for many great puzzles.

But... when you aren't in control of characterB do they just sit there? What if an enemy approaches, will they just die, or will they try to move out the way/defend themselves (assuming game has enemies)

I don't really know? It's probably just my imagination or a small fairy of the Shadow Kingdom escaped from my mind and put a spell on me, convincing me that I have a clue what I'm talking about.

I'll figure it out somehow!

I'd assume that any activity surrounding the inactive character would freeze, allowing the player to fully concentrate on the puzzle or task they must complete with the active character.
