I'm trying something a bit unusual here. My friend dumped levels out of Mario 64 through an emulator into .WRL files. I then imported a level into 3ds max and exported it to .X with the Panda settings I use for everything. But when I load it in Dark Basic, the entire level is turned 90 degrees up, not facing the way it is in 3ds max. I do not rotate it. Also, I cannot set collision to it with Nuclear Glory (I have the latest DLL update, and it just crashes to the editor without an error). If I don't set collision, it loads but pointing straight up. Any ideas here?

EDIT: I fixed it. I gotta tinker more before I start posting.

Just curious, what was the problem with NG/positioning the level? How did you fix it?

I had to uncheck all the import options for 3ds max, and rotate it manually. Then delete everything that wasn't geometry. Then export it.

If its turned 90 degrees up when exported, just rotate it 90 degrees down then export it, so when its exported it will face the right way

Then try it with NG.

Reset Xform? I'm not famaliar with this command. Is that the one that resets all the positions so that they're relative to each object? I searched the help files but didn't find anything.

To be curious you can dump out n 64 levels from the games using an emulator and a rom? That sounds cool i'd never done that before. I know this might be the wrong time to say it but can you show me how? Cause I'm been wanting to do that with some games I've been wantng to use it on.

Reset Xform is under the utilities tab. You might need to click more to see it. It basically resets the bounding box and information on its rotation, location, and scale for 3dsmax. With a really F'ed up mesh it may invert your normals are mess around with the geometry (this would also happen on export). Often times it can fix problems, or atleast identify them.

I'll try the Xform thing when I get back to the dorm.

I don't actually know how to dump the level out from the emulator, my neighbor did it and sent me the .WRL file.
