Well, you know how you have your dieting slumps, spiritual slumps, academic slumps and physical slumps? I'm in a programming and game design slump. The problem with this is I'm leading my Church in a Christian game where making. I've lost motivation. Is this a sign of a bad project? Or is this natural and I just need a break? What are somethings I can do to stay motivated?

arg that's the worst idea

Take a break.. work on some perhaps some different parts of the project.. maybe make a map editor or a utility for the game..

Well that, and Mouse deleted only my posts in the original thread of my expressed opinion. So it's a boycott of being unfairly moderated too.

I still say it is possible to make something overly religious without many people ever even realising.

You could hardly call the Matrix Trilogy a religious movie, no? That's like calling Ghost in the Shell religious, or any other movie that tries to blow the notion of ourselves out of the water.

LOL, this all to good. I actually did the second link and it did something for me... on a deeper level. lol.

Actually, the Matrix Trilogy is VERY religious. If you go to there website you'll learn that the movie is based off of alot of different religions.

write a list on paper, tackle the things on the list you can do now.
then your one or two steps closer to the projects completion.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself

Get technical - like don't do any work on your game, just spend a couple of night tidying up the code, commenting it, moving it into gosubs and functions where you can. Once you've done that I'd be surprised if you were'nt keen to get back onto it. Coding is a little like hanging around in an untidy room, it might be nice to be lazy and leave it for a while, but at the end of the day it's hard to relax in an untidy environment. I'm not saying your code is necesserily untidy (I haven't seen it, I just know how untidy mine usually is) - but taking a sidestep and figuring out where your code is going and getting it ready for work is always beneficial.

A To-Do list is definitely a good idea. And make the tasks bite-sized.

Once you start ticking items off the list, you'll realise just how much you are acheiving.

heh, the movies are laced with Biblical references. not to mention the entire story is basically an overview of the new testiment heh. just thrown into a pseudo technical environment.

it's quite obvious this is what they've done. while they're not sitting there being preachy about it, probably because if they were obvious about it it would've been banned (much like Life of Brian was).. but the subtext is there.

unlike other films which are religious but really tackle some core issues and question; Matrix isn't aimed at being deep philisophical stuff which makes you think, it's aimed at being entertaining.

I'm stumped as to how Life of Brian could be construed as offensive by anyone - I'm glad it's not like that now.

Is anyone watching that history series with Terry Jones? - it's about the history of England, and it's very interesting stuff. Like how nobody ever believed that the world was flat, and also how the church of England were actually scientific pioneers!.

Anyone remember the rabbit scene from Holy Grail? - it's only about 30 miles from my house - planning a camping trip there next summer, I'll be sure to take some footage of the horrible beast.

Is that the one were they were persecuted for delving too deeply into why things were as they were? The common belief was just to let things be. I saw a quick snippet of sommething one night, but didn't know what it was.

I know this was written a while back, but it just reminded me that me and 2 of my friends got pool hustled at a neighbors party by some unknown girl who was on vallium because of surgery. This wouldn't be funny if it weren't true, but alas, it was! How degrading!
