I'm holding my cuppa right now .

My cousin died in a car accident no more than a few months ago, I didn't really know him that well so I can't really compare, but it kinda brings you back to earth. You never know when your time will come...

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

At least your dad was around, mine disappeared for a few years then came back a drunk. But mine never hit me, and it's in his best interest to never try. I'll have a drink too, as long as you're not drinking wild turkey.

I'll drink to you too, coke of course. My Dad nearly died about a year ago (I think it was about the time I joined here actually) so I kinda know what it's like.

It really would be in your best interest not to release that sort of information about yourself on the internet.

I, the King of Hot-Dogs and Sad Music, declare this the most depressing of all posts.

I can't compare at all, I've had a near perfect life, but you have my deepest regrets.

Do you honestly think something's going to happen because people know a little bit about his life?

Exeat, this is why threads get poorer.. you shouldn't bother qouting that. Keep the thread going.

If I could remember, I suppose I would drink to me having a dad looking after me in times of need, and not having fights or shouting at each other.

I'm making a clear point to HZence that revealing a little bit about your personal life isn't going to cause harm to anybody. Some people are paranoid about even telling their name over the internet because they're afraid stalkers might find out who they are, however, in reality this is incredibly unlikely as many people have the same name. You should only really be concerned if you give out your address, and even then, it's improbable that people are going to come after you. I'm sure Indi's quite capable of assessing any risk involved with him making the above post. The point I'm trying to make is that I'm not trolling, I have some valid points about a serious issue in this modern age that I wish to make clear.

In regard to your comment, who's to say that a thread is going to be 'poorer' because it's stemming in a different direction? If we all stuck to the one topic then the Forums would be filled with hundreds of significantly shorter threads. Likewise, even if the discussion does go a different way, all users are still able and should feel inclined to post a reply to the original subject and give Indi their regards. It’s only natural that the subject matter of a thread will change many times in its lifetime and it’s not something that should be prevented, we are just simply communicating on a casual forum, are we not?

@Exeat: No, that's not what I meant at all. I'm just saying, you really don't know any of these people, and you should really ask yourself if it's worth revealing personal information such as the above. It could end up coming back to bite you in the @$$.

If indi was a kid, that comment would be relevant, but he's among the more mature members of the board so it really doesn't matter. If I was into messing with peoples' lives, personally, I would not want to mess with any tough Aussie outbacker no matter how much info I had

Ahh, I understand you now. I still think it's fine for him to tell us a little about his life, it's better then keeping his emotions bottled up. And like Mouse says, Indi's one of the older and more mature members of the forum, he knows what he's doing... hopefully when he's drunk too.

There's nothing wrong with posting about stuff like that, in fact I'd say its a very good way of getting it out of your system.

@indi: I hope you feel better now, if you ever come to Ireland, drop by the pub where I work, and I'll give you a free
