So everyone,

Christmas is coming and I'm getting excited!
This is what I hope santa will get me! LOL

1. FPS Creator
2. Burnout 3 (XBOX)
3. Starwars Battlefront
4. Half-life 2

And Urr... some other things off my family!

And this year I'm going to see my dearest nan! And have christmas
dinner with her!

What about you?

-ALI-

P.S. 3 weeks after that is my birthday!

I HATE Christmas - far too commercialised these days. Can't even walk down Oxford Street now without being a physical wreck by the end. Absolutely chock-a-block with shoppers buying Christmas junk.

Don't have to see my grans or grandads any more coz there all dead!

Being a single guy in my thirties also means I don't get a lot of prezzies.

I will however be frequenting LOTS of pubs over the festive period which is a bonus I suppose and I get two weeks off work.

Boo!

Christmas is well over a month a way and yet all the shops are pushing tawdy Christmas garb as if it were tommorrow. I don't blame them, but it is annoying.

I always think the best part of Christmas is sitting down in front of the fire drinking mulled wine, whilst reading a new book or watching a DVD (mind you, I wouldn't pass up a few hours of Metroid Prime 2 either )

I like cold nights, small fires and Christmas TV

Anyway no idea what I'm getting for presents but they'll come off Amazon for sure. Also will get presents for my friends/family from charity shops Although the thing I'm looking forward too is my gf's birthday (Christmas day ).

Quote: "reading a new book"

Probably will be a book on some form of coding...unless my mum buys me something good from a charity shop.

Ouch! Talk about pressure! Women want to be swept away on their birthdays by their significant other--- dazzled, if you will. Now you have to do that to the power of 2. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes...

And the best part for us Southern Hemsphere people is that our Christmas break is also our summer break, so we get a decent amount of time to play with our presents.

Lovely weather here today, no clouds, nice and warm, although not too hot. I'm gonna ride to the beach for a swim

christmas is my favorite time of year i love the decorations the pushy shoppers the way to high prices and everything that goes along with it because if it wasnt for christmas their wouldnt be a single time of year where family could be together even for one day everyone can wear santa hats at their lower paying but way more fun jobs and every store in town is filled more than a halo 2 multiplayer game so i say merry christmas to all and happy new year

Bah humbug...

I hate christmas. My hatred is founded by having a Birthday on Christmas. Yes I was the first child born in Philidelphia on the December 25th at 7:14 in the morning that dreadful day. The local newspapers we're litterally up my mothers "Explitve Deleted" trying to get that "Cute photo op".

Then my hatred only grew over the years. Being not very rich, I never had a merry Christmas. I'd get 1 present for both my Birthday and Christmas. That sorta ended when I turned a little older and we eventually made our way into Utah. It still wasn't nice, but it was better.

Now we come to the modern days of my life. I do not belive in religion, and being the "Non Beliver" that I am, I sort of don't celebrate it. I still do recive gifts, and give them, just so people don't bitch and whine about it later on. I do not however wish anyone a "Merry Christmas".

A real complaint of mine is how the United States of America will say in its "Not going to mix Church and state" but yet declare this a "National Holiday". Same go's for Easter. To get around it though, the falsity's of "Santa(Satan )" and the "Easter Bunny" are created to "Take the religion out of it". (I am sorry to any children reading whom did not know that they are not real, but I am sure that if your parents are allowing you to read and surf the internet, then you should have hit the maturity level to know this by now.)

As for what I want for christmas. I want peace and silence, in other words, no kids coming around to my door singing "Carols". I will not hesitate to slam the door in thier faces.

I did imply to those whom know me, if they are going to bother with anything, that i want Blank CDR/DVDR's and some Memory. Can't have enough of either, and if they are gonna waste money on me, why not make it useful?

If I need to make a christmas wish, I would say "Lower gas prices!", but we know that isn't happening anytime soon. I really need to fins a cheap Hybrid car.

I would also like a few nice bottles of champagne. That should make it much cheaper on New Years Eve, if ya know what I mean .

Eric

Santa Claus is real, fact.
Father Christmas isn't.

Santa Claus is Saint Niklaus, which all those of you celebrating Christ's Mass would already know.

For those of you waiting for Father Christmas to turn up in his Coca-Cola endorsed attire, the above will probably baffle and perplex, but will not lose you any sleep.

I was just thinking that if Coca Cola decided they wanted to sue anyone who used a jolly fat man in a red suit, they could make a very, very, very large sum of money. The sad thing is, they'd probably win as well.

Not sure what I'll do be doing this Christmas. I'd like to have a festive experience.. not get too drunk, because that means getting a hang over or being sick. Also it would mean me being round my mates. Each Christmas so far I've left the house at 6pm and gone out drinking. I'd like to have a different Christmas, cus the last ones I havn't had any fun! No intercourse either! (look it up in the dictionary, one or two meanings ;P)

I didn't say he was. His red attire, one of many colours, and the main one being green in earlier years, was promoted by Coca Cola because it matched their branding. Although they didn't invent the image, they can claim a large degree of responsibility for the other versions dying out.

Santa=Saint

WTF mate? Satan?

That's probably just a thought to make everybody who doesn't want religion involved with Christmas happy about it. It's celebrating Christ, but the guy who comes and gives you presents is supposed to be Satan. Couldn't be religious at all if that was the case. Imagine how pissed off people would be.

Christmas was originaly the celebration of the winter solstic, and the returning of the sun. Some people still celebrate it as this, rather than as a religios holiday.

When I said "originaly" I ment "A freaking long time ago". It wasn't called christmas back then, but the reason they hung candels ect. on the trees was to celebrate the returning of the light. Their is more, but I don't want to offend christans any more than I already have.

Someday, I'll finish a game. Until then, I'll just start writting them.

Well I know that the whole Christmas tree idea was originally pagan, but I didn't know that Christmas (or whatever it was called) was originally some other event. I think most Christians don't care about the original history because what they celebrate now is completely different than the "original" aspect.
