Rats, this is multi-player only isn't it? Was fun flying around space for a bit, but with no opponents it looses interest a bit quickly. Need to set-up a networked session of it.

yeah... we realize that too. The next step is to set up a matchmaking lobby. So that the players can look for available game sessions on the Internet.

Yup at the moment u will need the IP of the host server as well as a few other guys to play around to fully enjoy the game. Imagine battlefield 1942 or counterstrike minus the players and you're all alone and you'll get the picture.

I love it! Very very professional! This should silence those posters who say DB is only for hobbyists and not for commercial development.

I am inspired. Cant wait for the final version. Keep up the excellent work.

I find your demo download form intrusive. What possible need or right could you have for this information? I am willing to supply an email address. That would give you all the contact information you need.

honestly i wasn't very impressed by the demo...it looked nice, but...the guy seemed stiff when he moved and the weapon effects weren't terribly impressive...

Imagine this,

- A multiplayer game
- With high quality models and textures
- it's 10% of the full game.
- done is 6 months time

Our objective of this demo is,

- showcase the core gameplay
- to test out the technical feasiblity of our game design. (We don't know how powerful is DBpro initially. But now we know. )
- to get more feedbacks so that we know how do you like/dislike this game.

Obviously, we understand that this game requires more players to have more fun. We are on our way to develop a matchmaking lobby server, which is anticipated to complete in a month time. It won't be as comprehensive as Battle.Net initially, but it's enough for you to browse thru all created game sessions on the Internet, and play it with other Internet players.

Stay tuned with our News and Announcements forum.

p/s: I hoped your dissapointment won't turn you down on our future upgrades on the demo, will you?

it looks interesting, and potencially could be fun..
but as a rule i generally don't download anything I HAVE to fill in a form for; exceptions generally are trials to software i'll be using for work purposes. (Things that usually cost more than my PC just to buy lol)

Yeah, I had to consider whether I could be bothered to think up fake personal info (I generally don't give my address away over the internet). But after I had downloaded, I was fairly pleased with what I saw. A long way to go I think with the user control. The fact that you couldn't turn a little bit by moving the mouse slightly, and suddenly jerked into action at one point annoyed me. Also you probably wouldn't move then stop dead in space, you would carry on going. I think at least make it so you slowly slow to a halt when holding nothing, or make it so you're continuously moving forward until you decrease the throttle. Some bullet collision would be nice too .

Keep it up.

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

Waa! Multiplayer only? But what if nobody is currently playing? I want to at least try the game without joining or creating a multiplayer game. I need to see how the game runs on my machine, but I can't like this. Anyways, I don't have much time right now, but I'll try it later.

We are on the way of developing a matchmaking server. When it's up, you were able to browse thru the game session created by other Internet players. Check out our forum for more updates.

I played it. The movement does seem a bit jerky, but it's overall really nice. ^_^ Got bored by myself though. Can't wait for the matchmaking server, so I can see how this game really plays.

Oh yeah, and the fact that I couldn't rotate the camera did bug me a bit.

We are currently doing it up some polish up work and prepare for to release the demo update in a month time. Thus, we will be reviewing thru all the suggestions made in the forum. Thanks!

Awesome, bulleyes!

Some AI would be nice, even if all it did was point and shoot. Might come in handy for when you don't have enough players for a decent game, too - just a thought

Anyways, without a doubt this is one of the coolest things I've seen in the DBP comunity! Keep it up!

Looks much slicker. I like it . Circles are cool.

The whole UI looks pretty good, really, fits with the scifi theme nicely without becoming too counterinuitive or esoteric. That's is just from the screenies though-- still, can't see how it could be worse in action.

Yeah, the new one definitely looks a lot more visually appealing. But besides that, please evaluate its effectiveness as well? For me, a tactical map must be easy and straight forward enough to know the position of your ships. For example, at one glance, you should able to have a good idea on the relative distance between two ships. 2D tactical map like Strarcraft and Warcraft are pretty straightforward. But when it comes to 3D space, the representation needs careful design to ensure the optimum effectiveness of a tactical map, i.e. one that is not only beautiful, but it serves its purpose well as a tactical map. What good it is if a tactical map that looks so nice, but the poor representation hinders you to plan your strategy effectively.

I wanna hear more inputs from you guys. Post your comments below,

The other tactical map looked too much like a 2d tactical map, like from the Star Trek games. It's much easier to see the ships' positions in the new design.

Beautiful. I'm going to die if I don't get a chance to do some multiplayer with people.

Oh yeah, Osirus, a minimap, or probably a Radar screen for the Battle Armor unit. What kinda Radar screen that you guys prefered? Wing Commander style, where you have a circle split into 6 regions to represent front, rear, left, right, top, and bottom; or X-Wing style, where you have two separate circles, each represent front and rear sensors.

We want to hear suggestion about this from you, post them in our suggestion forum at,

There will be slight delay in the release of 2nd demo of Sun Crusher. Our team will be away from 7 February 2005 till 14 February 2004 for the Chinese New Year holiday. The final integration and quality assurance of the 2nd demo will take place as we come back. We anticipate the release date will be postponed to 26 February 2005.

We regretted if there is any dissapointment caused. Wish all of our Chinese fans out there a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year!
