I could say the same about Firewall
Good luck with getting it published, I tried the new demo on Gametunnel.com, and the new GUI has made a big difference.

Eagerly awaiting feedback.

Ahr matey, it be awesome yar!
Didn't take too long to complete, but it's fun nonetheless, and I guess it only didn't take so long cos i'd already played through most of the demo version.
That last boss is evil though, I like

I'm still trying to work out how to download it O.o

Theres some wierd box with the 'not available plugin or whatever' image in. I'm using firefox you see. If I click it, it tries to find a plugin for it, but can't. I'm guessing thats the download button?

Great idea mate, stop firefox users from downloading it

yes i completed it took me 2 attaempts thaks to good ol resume game :p, the collision is irritating like if i wasnt to swaeve around a turret he just stops and no reverse or anything, i like the level themes and the bosses makes it seem proffesional whilst having that cartoonly feel, the only reason i completed the last level was the carcas of my ship killed it , but overall its a great game nice sound effects graphics nice touches like the boat swaying from side to side and the fireballs extinguishing from the volcanoe.

I saw the buttons in IE (I use Firefox and IE, depending on the situation), but when I tried to click them, it didn't work. I just guessed the file's URL, I was right, and I'm d/l now.

Sorry I took so long...I was on vacation, and didn't go online much.

I played the game, it is really cool. It is a pretty solid game, and has some really cool concepts, like the flying enemies, different weapon types, ability to shoot from the side, and the doors/buttons. It was really fun too, good job Drew. Nice menus too.

Suggestions:
-Is this Classic or Pro? If it is Classic, I suggest using sliding collision so you can slide the ship along the edge, instead of it getting stuck. My ship got stuck on the side once too...

-I was able to go "inside" of one of the spinny blade things, so the blade couldn't get me, but the wooden beam was going through me. Is there a way you could prevent this?

-Have you tried turning the camera so it was always behind the ship? I was just wondering what it would be like...probably too dizzying...

I really like the ship tilting and the camera shaking, those are cool effects. Keep up the good work!

It was quite fun. A bit short but it was fun. Level 8 was really short and easy, I don't know why, and the final boss was a bit annoying. Still, this game was enjoyable.

Err... can't you just press Shift?

Heh, I never noticed that either

Though it is a lil harder to control that way, or at least harder to see what's going on, I think... the default camera view looks better and gives a better feel to the game in my opinion, but i guess that's why the choice is there

Thankyou for the good feedback,

and yes - Bolt, you can use SHIFT.
I know about the saws, and the sliding collision. Those are both frequently quoted problems, but the speed lost in implementing full sliding collision makes it not-worth while. As it is, I have to savour every bit of speed I can, as the game is very graphically intesive. As for the saw problem - no idea how to fix that I'm afraid...

Thanks very much all.

I played it for a few levels and it is addictive. Excellent game.

I had to get used to not being able to go in reverse But I suppose that would be difficlue at sea anywayz.

Which reminds me, if you don't have such levels you should have something with wind and strong currents to push the ship back ward. The big boss concept is always awesome specially when it comes from independent developers.

Cheers

Indeed, ships cannot sail backward.

There is a wind tunnel type feature in level 6, sorry if that spoiled the suprise

Final update

A lot of e-mails from visitors complaining that the game is very hard. Here is the level skip cheat code:

Quote: "Hold SPACEBAR and press M to skip the level"

Note this cheat does not work on stageboss levels.
Hope that helps everyone

Merry Christmas!

Just a question, while I wait for the download...

Your site says:

Quote: "These games are 100% adware, spyware and virus free"

Why, you can't really say that. Looks great, anyway, can't wait for the download to finish.

BTW.
Quote: "I'm using firefox you see. If I click it, it tries to find a plugin for it, but can't."

It wouldn't happen to be a Flash plugin, would it? Try going to the Firefox site for it.

[EDIT]Got it. Very class. Just a few more questions...

1)I'm just wondering why there's two EXEs, RUNTIME.exe and the one it says to run in the readme?
2)Why's it play the music when you're hit?

Just curious.

Yes, observant of you. I do take offence to your tone. "Sadly..."; sad? why? you got the game for free so shutup.

Yes, I can. Virus checked, and coded by me (no adware or spyware then).

Quote: "1)I'm just wondering why there's two EXEs, RUNTIME.exe and the one it says to run in the readme?
2)Why's it play the music when you're hit?"

Because one is the actual game, and one is the menu, through which you are intended to access the game. A bit messy The music plays to add to any action taking place, with a player hit taken being the programs flag to play music, similar to Codename Outbreak.

OK, but that doesn't guarantee a virus-free prog. Anti-virus software isn't perfect.

Never got to play Codename: Outbreak, but I just thought the style of the music was a little... unique compared to the rest of the game's style. Doesn't ruin the game or anything.

@ Jeff if you check this: (sorry for the bump everyone else)
The levels were made with an editor, but I can't really release it right now as it's not user friendly, at all.

That's really a lie though, as I do plan to release Time Ship v2 soon with *normalized matrices* and perhaps an improved level editor thrown in. I'm going to redo all my back catalogue better for my sites anniversary in August.

The Game is cool, like Dumbo !

I dont know whether this question is already answered, but:

why is the game only running on 640x320 .... the resolution is not normal ... its not 4x3 .... i have to run it at 320x240 ...

But that reminds me on a cool PSX-Game ....

But great work .... and im looking happily forward to your next games (especially your Oddworld-game ...)

Don't be too dissapointed - I've got everything planned but have yet to get cracking - I have to finish Dumbo and Cool and start selling it before I am free to work on Oddworld.

EARLY - 4 days of work.

Building view - where you build factories from. Right now trees are the only resource and you can build a wood factory, but that's not shown.

A+ pathfinding - to make sure nobody walks through anything. Red circle is target, everything makes its way to that point via the grid of points.

Walkaround view, exploring my non existant empire.

My brand new supreme water code, soon to be released. It's stunning, but doesn't show up in a still photo.

Walkaround view, again.

No models etc... yet.
More to come, I've never given up a project yet.

Currently, only the last screen works but its looking good already (like a game) - for 4 days of work its far in excess of what I can make (in that time+make it look like a game). Good luck. Its a good idea, and as you quite nicely state, you've never given up on a project (the willpower I lack....)

Keep it up! (Can't wait for Dumbo & cool; hope it keeps to schedule)

Edit: As I've posted, the screens suddenly work.... weird.
