i am using dbpro. when i call my function fire() it gives me an error saying that the object number is illegal. Please help!

That's where you're probably going wrong that isn't how you use arrays. The correct way is

Dim num(1)
num(0) = 5

Arrays count the 0 value, and have to have the values set seperatly unlike variables... I don't really know how to explain hope this helped.

i even tried it with this code to see if i could get it to fire once and it did not work what could it be?
