i just recently bought MilkShape (and it was worth it!) and i've been tooting along fine...but i've had to do some pretty weird work-arounds to do certain stuff that i would normally do with a cut/slice command...

so does anybody know how to do that in MilkShape?

(if you don't know what i'm talking about i'll explain further )

I don't have milkshape, but the type of operation you want to do might also be called "boolean". Maybe that'll help you find it. You're talking about cutting 1 shape from another object, right?

@Raven: What Poly Tools plugin? Where do I get it?

@Peter: There's a few ways to do what you're asking. First there's divide edge, which I recommend. It basically splits 1 polygon into 2 along a specified edge (or a pair of verticies). The trouble is that you can't divide more than 1 edge at a time.

There's also the subdivide tools, but I'd be wary of those because they can sometimes mess up how polygons attach to one another (you might end up with big, gaping holes in your model ).

Hope I helped!

Make sure all the verts are welded and snapped together (sometimes a hidden vert gets in there and messes things up).

if it says you dont have 2 select then you dont, maybe you have some flat polys that you cant see or something use one of the mesh cleaners however they have a tendancy to wipe off all vertex normals

I assumed it was part of Milkshape3D. I keep getting sent my updates by Mete whenever he finishes a new build so I seem to have a collection of updates.
Need to talk to the guy who made the selection tool as it was an add-on for that.. really need to get Mete (once i get back in his good books) and that guy to sit down and include these features in 1.7.4 heh
