I already asked EricT this question over at IRC, but i refuse the believe what he said is the only way to do it

so i decided to double check and ask if anyone knows of a way to get my Wireless Linksys Card to work in Linux (Fedora Core 3)

Try asking on the forums at: http://www.linuxquestions.org/. Actually, try searching first, and then ask. Chances are somebody has had the same problem.

As I said a million times, your card does not have linux Drivers (its in the same list as my wireless card). But NDISwrapper will do its magic (if you can install it correctly).

But if there is another way, somehow, please do tell me, so it saves me time on my next linux install.

Edit: Try finding a RPM of NDISWrapper, it might make things a but simpler.

You know who I pray to? Joe Pesci. He looks like a guy who can get things done. Joe Pesci doesn't **** around. In fact, Joe Pesci came through on a couple of things that god was having trouble with.

i cant figure out ndiswrapper, it confuses the crap outa me

how about a network card that is supported? i'll buy one, i need a new one for my other computers anyways.

I had this same problem with my Linksys USB Adapter--- couldn't get the dang thing to work in Linux. Good luck, and when you discover a solution, let me know

Also, anyone know a way to upgrade Fedora Core 1 to the newest version? Thanks!

Follow the instructions for "Upgrading to Fedora Core 3". Or of course you can use the images and do it the classic way (there is an option to upgrade installation).

I like the "YUM" way, still a large download though.... but it always seems quicker.

That is the idiots how to version.

BTW, with NDIS Wrapper, you have to have the source installed for your distro. That is a must (even though they neglect to really tell you that on any part of the site ).

Actually, I think I remember finding open-source community built drivers for Linksys wireless cards somewhere and using them in Red Hat (the people who started Fedora). However, I could be confusing it with another card nor do I know where to find the said drivers. Search around sites devoted to Linux device drivers and maybe you'll find some.
