After signing up for a trashy site that said this before on the forum (www.lowftp.com), I am finally building my own servers and willing to host the game creators peeps only!

Correct! Although we are still maintaining the servers, so you can't sign up yet, but I will inform you guyz!

I promise you, you will never have any downtime! Ever! And it's free! No ads or anything like that!

I will have my servers up by jan-feb nxt year, so please let me know at lightwebhost@hotmail.com if you would like a free web host, and get your username reservered quicker!

We offer free sub domain - yourusername.lightwebhost.net

Please don't take this message as a 'SPAM' message, I really will be hosting for free for the game creators only!

Enjoy using DBC/DBP

Sorry but such offers have been made several times before. Be prepared to see doubtfull people.
I can see the date you joined these forums. I hope you really know what you're doing.

Oh sure, and how will you manage it ? Accidents can happen. Don't make promises you can't keep.

Damokles I fully understand where you are coming from, lets face it, I have seen these silly offers many times before elsewhere and promises are broken!

Either way, I am offering this service for you guyz only, I fully understand your reactions right now are 'Just another stupid person!' But if you give me a chance, just one! And I promise you, you will not be dissappointed!

Servers do go down, But I can assure you my servers hardly ever go down! And if they were to go down, our team would be right on it! (This is our own time work, so youd need to give us a bit of time!)

And that's for the managment part of it, We have a 24/7 monitor, that monitors all of the user accounts, and makes sure there are no downtimes!

One chance I beg!

you cant promise 100% uptime, it's almost impossible. me and jimmy have tried to give you lot free hosting, but in the long run. it dont work out.

the only solution is for example 50-100 users paying about $1-2 each per month. then you would only break even. (most people here wont fork out for a website)

you can get 1tb bandwidth servers for $79-89 per month for starters then they can keep going all the way upto 4 digit figures for uncapped 10mbit or 100mbit.

it all depends if there is a market for it here and the most important thing do you have the time to support the server 24/7/365?

p.s. your new registered status might not help you sell webhosting.

Hey lagmaster,

Our servers are 99% uptime 24/7 365 days a yr....

There is a 1% chance of it ever to go down! And it it was to go down, we would work right on it!

We do not wish to charge for any dark basic user! The only reason why many peeps sites go down is due to time and effort!

I have been selling web host for many years now, we have enough money for our own 'Dark Basic' server!

We own our own servers! We do not use any reseller options that you may of been using!

It's worth at least signing up? Right?

Why am I not surprised ?

- - - - -

Now my advice to all of those who promise to give free webspace :
- Only make the offer when it's running correctly, not if we still he to wait some weeks or months before seeing the result.
- Show at least one site that is hosted on your server (that will make it much more credible)
- Don't say things that can't be possible (i.e. 100% uptime), that makes your offer less credible

So do I.

My situation is pretty easy to understand :
I have a nice host for now and I'm satisfied with him, but I know it will not last forever.
My goal is to get some space on a special server inside the belgian education system. I hope they will understand that it could also get the education better.
I wouldn't mind to pay, but I try the free options first.

@Lag -- Good investigation work I spent about 15 minutes myself looking to see if that was the same guy who peddled lowftp.com and ran off, but couldn't find that thread.

I THINK IT IS GOOD SOME ONE IS DOING THIS; IT WILL MAKE IT EASER FOR US TO GROW AS A COMUNITY. We need a free host it will make every thing easer, we will be able to help and get help from others here much easer. I was thinking about making a free-host for some time now but do not have the money as of the moment.

he claimed he has been doing hosting for several years now but would not let me know his website.

i was talking to him on irc and in pm. i told him we was causious about new people wading in offering free hosting, so i said show me your the real deal this time and i might support you.

he has yet to give enough supporting data to prove he is real on this offer.

as far as im concerned this person is probably the same as the lowftp guy.

you see all he has to do is prove himself and this will all go away, but is he proving he is real? no

I've checked up last night (lagmaster helped too). The IPs do not match. That's not conclusive evidence however as he could be using any kind of a router .

If you want anyone to take you seriously 'no nick', stick with a name and avatar, less talk, and more action. Right now you're just making a fool of yourself, sorry.

no need for it from you anyway. Cmon people, it cost's a buck or two a month to have a decent host with all the fancy stuff that go into it.. that's 12 - 24 dollars a year... and usually if you pay by the year ya get a discount..

Beg your parents to slip you a twenty, and pick up some decent honest hosting.

It's not just a name change. If you change your name, it changes everywhere you've posted (even earlier posts). What we have here are two forum accounts--- not that anyone should care. Just weird is all.

The question I ask when it comes to free hosting is, what does the host get out of it? Nobody in the right mind is gonna dish out for a server and a connection, just to give it away free. And when there's not even gonna be ads or whatever that could make the host some kind of money back, I get a teeny-bit doubtful...

Look at DBspot. Fantastic free hosting while it was around at no profit to Jimmy. Sometimes people just do nice things .
