Man, I don't know how do you do them or with what, but these skyboxes, ROCK!!!

I wonder it's possible for you to make some like the day sky with some clouds 'n such, and maybe a sunset would rock too

Keep up the good work, indeed, thanks so much for contributing to the DB community

Absolutely. I started doing a set of "normal day" and "normal sunset" boxes as soon as I looked at what I'd posted so far and realized there were too many sci-fi type skies in there. Up to now I've mostly just been experimenting with different settings in Bryce to see what effect they have. That's why so many strange ones.

I should be done in a day or so, I'll announce them here when they're ready. I really appreciate the feedback, thanks for taking the time to check the boxes out.

We had our first snowfall of the year here in Kentucky this past weekend, which inspired me to start doing some snowy scenes as well.

I'm using Bryce 5, Caligari Gamespace, and Adobe Photoshop Elements V2. The skies, mountains, and oceans are Bryce. Gamespace for the .X object that is my sky, and Photoshop to flip and rotate textures where needed.

The one skybox that includes the alien moon rising, I used Flaming Pear's Lunar Cell plugin for the moon. Flaming Pear absolutely rocks. I've got a couple dozen planet/moon textures I've been thinking about uploading if there's any interest in them. They map pretty well onto a standard DBPro sphere.

@mx5 kris:

Thanks for the reply. Stay tuned for uploads. If you care to have a look, here's a (thumbnail) screen snap I did merging some planets and star/nebula fields in Photoshop. All the media was done using the plugins I mentioned previously.

There's also a full-size image (jpg, approx 300k) at:

I've got a few realistic cloudy textures if you want them for sky spheres. Attached is a screen shot.

Here be some of them. These are the "normal day" kind we were talking about. I'll try some sunset/sunrises tomorrow night. Thanks again for the idea...

Zip file is 7.7MB, link below.

@GMan: Damn! How could anybody not want them if they're that good? Great stuff. Are they put together in a way that would lend itself to a seamless skybox?

To be honest, I've never tried to put them on a sky "box". I prefer spheres since you don't have the odd corner distortion stuff to deal with. These were generated off of actual sky pictures I took while driving down to the family Thanksgiving get-together. In DBPro, here's all you need to do to use them

Then all you need to do is center your skysphere around your camera. Looks cool if you Y-rotate it slowly too.

Only thing I ask is a credit if you use them.
