I've been working on this model for like a month I think, at least got some nice textures for it and here is it, I still have to change the trenchcoat's color, but as for now, it matches the description of the person who gave me the rights to use her character... it's a good model? needs something more? shall I remove / edit something? Thanks ^_^ (sorry for the large screenshot)

She looks good DarkGuy. Lighting is a bit dim in the rendered example you posted so I couldn't see the face enough to see if you intended a human-like face, some type of mask, alien, etc. Anyway, maybe a little smoothing if it's a real face, otherwise it looks really good.

Well I didn't used any lightning as it was a sample render.. and she's a feline/human mix .. yeah I know the render doesn't has any shading due that there's no lights.. I may include a new small render later

A month?

You gotta be kiddin' .. right?

I mean, no disrespect meant (well ... not much) but that is something that a complete beginner could know up in a couple of hours.

I did it in two days. Did the normal model in one, improved it in the second and I had the base one, and I've been improving it since then, finding it textures, modifying the mesh slightly... last modification I did was to optimize the mesh to get even lower polycounts, yesterday I found the trenchcoat and boots texture and today I found it the shirt and pants texture... and maybe I'll improve the blades.. with some kind of katars texture... don't know yet.

Very sad that anyone in this forum would intentionaly disrespect a person just for posting their work and asking for comments.

Should anyone care to look, that model isn't too far away from a couple of the for-sale models in the DarkMatter collection.

Could we see a clode up of the face? It looks good, you just can't see the face very well.

That does not look like 1388 polys. It looks a lot less, so i assume that most are being taken up by the face/head? as i cant really see. My main comment would be that your character looks very square. You might want to try round inthe arms and shoulders, that is without making the poly count too much higher.

Hope that helped

Maybe I'll make it smoother in the CG model, this is the game one, and I'm trying to keep the polys low. I would have done it with a single mesh but I don't know how to bone-animate in 3DSMAX for exporting it correctly to a .X or .3DS file, so it's easier to animate this way.

As for some requests, a close up and another view in an standing animation, I have to correct the boots texture, but they look muddy 'n such so I'm not sure if I'll leave them or change them.. oh well.

[edit] This post for the first screenie, second post for the other one...Photobucket decided to be a ....... y'know.

Making the model smother isnt necessarily about giving your mesh more polys but, using the ones you have the most efficient way. For example there are polys in your mesh which are not being used to actually created any more flexibility or curve, so they are in effect being wasted (or at least that is how it looks from your screen shots). Try it out on the arms/shoulders, to get more of a curve with the polys you already have. From my perspective it looks quite possible.
