According to someone, its is already compatiable with 2005, as long as you download the extra 200Mb pack. Haven't tried it, so I cant confirm it.

You may also need the Platform SDK, which is a separate download. The beta compiler doesn't include that to reduce the size of the download.

It should work. I don't have the DarkGameSDK, but I have compiled sucessfully ALL my C++ projects in VC++ 2005. Sometimes they need some changes in the Project Settings, but nothing hard.

Did you get it working with VS 2005, or are you going to get 2003/VS6 ?

You won't get it working in Visual C++ 2005 Express. You need Visual C++ 2005 Beta Refresh 1.

2005 Express will *never* have the standard libraries and Templates required, while you can copy across the 2003 Library/Include/Source Directories for what you need; there are minor incompatibilities to deal with. Unfortunately they haven't finished programming it for 2005 Beta yet.

Visual Studio 6.0/7.0 (2002) Resources are 100% Incompatible with the 2005 Compiler though.

Raven in that case i'll leave SDK alone for now then. seeing as i don't wanna buy 2003 version now then buy the 2005 express in a few months time.

Express is and will be the Free version of the Visual Studio software.

Standard, Professional, and Architect are the release versions.
They're due out next April, in-case your wondering.

I was talking about companies like EA releasing yearly games (Fifa 2004,5) when they should take a year off now and then and do some real improvements.
