so far rj has written 10 of the books, each a 700 page novel in itself.

I had this conversion on DBDN a few months back - I haven't got around to buying the latest book yet, but I have re-read the ones I have just recently.

I do have a problem with some of the story - some things just don't gell, especially in the last book (the introduction of a city where the power does not work), but overall, and considering the size of the series, I have to say that it's pretty damn good.

I agree with the city bit. Its almost as if RJ decided Far Madding was there but didn't know anything about it until he wrote book 9. I only remember him mentioning the name once or twice in the earlier books. The series is still my favourite though.

I'm at the end of book 10 and finally things are edging their way towards Tarmon Gaidon.
