How do you do your light maps? What utilities do you use (if any) and what tips or tricks do you have to share that would make getting started easier?

Giles (see the main TGC website) is a fully fledged lightmapper, or the new version of DeleD (http://www.delgine.com) has a very simple, but pretty nice looking lightmapping system. The latter is free and also a modeller, but if you're looking for comprehensive lightmapping features, then go for Giles.

I think it is new in the latest version (0.9 I think). I just downloaded the lastest the other day as I am on their mailing list and was sent an email about it.

max also does light mapping - under the render to texture option on the render menu

Used to be Phoenix_insane registered in september 2003 despite what the date says to the left <--
PC - amd athlon 2.0ghz, 512mb, GeForce FX 5200 128mb, 200gb, xp pro sp2
