I'm guessing he was joking because an artifical brain won't like cheese without proper cells even if it is a rat brain.

I know it's a myth. I had one and it didn't like cheese much.

Now if they tought a rat's brain cells how to keep a jet level, then imagine what they could do with human brain cells! We could see an an robot that is actually intelligent!

Guns arnt the problem, people are the problem, shoot all the people and guns arnt a problem anymore.

That's not very impressive. I'm not even a PhD but my brain cells have learned a language and a programming language, written two 50,000 word novels, progressed halfway through high school and taught themselves to be total smartasses. Flying a jet plane? Pathetic

its still very tiny1 if they wanted to(by that i mean if they had enough money) they would put together a huge one that would controll a very fast computer or something. or AOL could buy it and maybe there internet service would be worth having

Just to confirm, it's not fake, and those of you who thought it was obviously missed the link to the two other places this article could be found, one being CNN.com: http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/11/02/brain.dish/index.html

Well, you've been alive for 16(probably) years and have a lot of brain cells compared to some of a rat's brain.

I'm aware it was a joke.

Hmm, what if they made computers think, and your computer got pissed off at you, used it's built in webcam to take a picture of you masturbating, and uploaded it to the internet.

Guns arnt the problem, people are the problem, shoot all the people and guns arnt a problem anymore.

Yeah well don't do it or don't buy a computer with thought...why would you piss it off and the manufactures should block things like that...

NOTE: A brain doesn't have to get mad at you, or do anything else it does. It can be configured like cells and computers.

Quote: "used it's built in webcam to take a picture of you masturbating"

Why would you point a webcam there?
*Checks for webcams*

Could you fly a plane the day you were born? No, I didn't think so.

Well actually....

Isn't the important thing that they taught it to fly a jet instead of programming it to? How humans learn.

Well, when you program, you teach the computer to do something, exept the computer takes everything too literly and causes you misery.

well if they made the "brain chips" to well and the computer could talk to you via the speakers, when you tried to put in a CD it could say "f*** you im sleeping ill do it later!"

j/k

You know, there is a downside to this:

No more jobs. "Free" humans will be created to do jobs. Then, aventually, we'd all be obsolete and die somehow.
Then, some protesters stating stupid reasons will protest and noone will give a crap.

Or, tell you to put your nuts in the drive if you want to see your computer again and close the drive(if you're really gullable and the PC's really pissed off).

That gives me an idea:

I wonder how many people would listen to a program that sais it'll "masage" thier nuts if they stick them in the hole in thier CD drive.

Emotions are controlled by chemicals sent from other parts of your body, not your brain, so if you don’t give it certain organs which make the chemical’s then it wont get depressed.

To teach it you wouldn’t shock it when it did something wrong, you would use positive reinforcement by feeding it the chemical dopamine, which would make it happy. This then has the effect of strengthening the signal so it will do something faster.

Brain cells just use a small amount of electricity(synapse)so if you have a sonar sensor or some sort of height sensor then you just send an electrical impulse threw the cell when you send the sound and when you receive(based on sonar) you can then control height. You can do this with any sensor as they all use electricity.

The advantage of it will not just be a rat flying a plane but also will work the opposite way eg make a brain able to control prosthetic limbs or able to control your pc by your mind or even reading peoples thoughts and super fast processors that work with low power consumption. the list continues

Any spelling mistakes are totally In tensional.

Why not just have a brain config utility that will take 5 years to program?
