Hi,

Being a great delphi supporter, Is one allowed to port the headers to Delphi for DarkSDK.
Could I start an official project to port it? only with TGC approval of course.

Coz I would love to use DarkSDK with Delphi

DallasG,
Not to be rude, but you'll probably need to get in line. There's already a group of people here wanting C# and VB.net. Now I don't see why they couldn't port it over to Delphi. I think it will just take some time if the choose to do it. There is one thing though. I don't think TGC has a love for Delphi as the Dark Basic Pro editor which was programmed in Delphi by Guy, who ran Real Game Tools, was basically dropped for support. Nothing has been done on that editor since 2002. That's why you have all these other editors competing for the top crown unless TGC puts out a new editor for Dark Basic Pro. So sit back, grab yourself a beer(If you're 21 or whatever the legal age is) and relax, it's going to be a long wait.

SoulMan,
Not to be rude, but I dont think he was asking if TGC would support Delphi. I think he was asking if he could create a port that would allow support for Delphi.

Erm... I once had a virus that was written in Delphi... does that mean I have to hate Delphi now? That would make me very, very sad.

Anyway, I haven't had the time to take a closer look at the DGSDK yet, but I think I read somewhere it uses lib files? If so, Delphi would have linking problems...

Oh, I nearly forgot:

Probably very little chance of that - because the software isn't Freeware.

Although I'm sure TGC would be happy to get involved if they could make some money out of it

Does Delphi support Visual C++ .lib format?

Anyway, won't Delphi 2005 be compatible with the .NET framework? In that case, it would be more interesting to have a .NET port of DGSDK, so you can use that in C#, VB.NET, MC++, and Delphi.

No, that's why I mentioned the linking problems.

Yes, Delphi 2005 does (it's already available) support .Net and Win32 (as opposed to Delphi 8 that only supports .Net or Delphi 7 only Win32)

I have Delphi2005 Pro, and DElphi can use CBuilder libs, will test, but I dont think it will work

@Jedive Well you can use the SDK with VC.NET i do, you mean managed code? as for creating assemblies, that TGC are going to have to do as they have the source...

Would be nice since everything is going that way

No it won't. Borland and MS use different object and library formats.
