I need someone to tell me how to make a texture for bodies, guns, etc, etc. I see on some textures that they have like the front the back the top and the bottom or something like that. Is there anyway to make these by myself? Like I have a gun but i only have one side for a texture. How would I make a texture that when it goes on the model it goes on there correctly. Someone please help.

You can make textures in many ways -- Adobe Photoshop is good at it, for example.

Mapping it onto your object is a whole different thing though. You'll need some type of modeling or 3D painting program for that.

I have not been able to play with the UV mapping in Milkshape, but I have played around a bit with LithUnwrap (free!) and it does a descent job of UV mapping. It has a few quirks I have noticed, but it works for simple UV mapping. Their new version (called Unwrap 3D) is better and i have purchased that version, but I learned UV mapping with LithUnwrap.

I can see if I can find the tutorials that i used that finally shed the light on the concepts and how to's of UV mapping, though it still took a bit of research, and it will take time to do it well.

[EDIT]
I have attached the tutorial that finally got me working with UV maps successfully. There were some other tutorials that I had gone over, but after finally going over this tutorial, I "got it". I would suggest using this tutorial and check out the ones at www.unwrap3d.com as even though they talk about unwrap3d, but I have noticed that most everything is very similar between different UV mapping packages.
