I am redoing the arena mode in Firewall, and I was thinking of making the battles take place on a motherboard, with the processor, memory sticks, video card, etc... I thought it would be really cool and it would make it much more interesting because there would be obstacles and things to hide behind.

If anyone has created one already, I would appreciate it if I could use it...I will put you in the credits and if I make money on Firewall (not saying I will) I will give you something ($10-$20? Depends on quality...). Again, I am not promising anything. Or, if anyone thinks they could make a nice one without too much trouble, that would be cool too...you will get all the credit, I promise.

Thanks to anyone that can contribute

motherboard is kinda vauge:
(a) do you want it square or can ther be odd angles?
(b) can it be multilayered?
(c) how many "parts" do you want sticking up?
(d) do you want it textured?
(e) do you want an "edge" (like somthing to block people from going off the edge of the board)
(f) how big do you want the "parts"?

so it would be nice if you could tell us a bit more what your looking for...

Oh yeah, sorry guys. Here are a few more details, let me know if it is not enough...

-Rectangular in shape, no angles on edges
-Walls on all 4 sides, it would be really cool is you could make them look like the inside of a computer
-Relatively flat board, except for the things that stick up:
-4 memory sticks
-video card
-pci card
-CPU with fan
-capacitors

Yes, I want it textured, that was in the title And I would like it to be relatively to scale, just make it look right. There are tons of pictures of motherboards online, here is one that is about right:

And a nice 3D one:

Thanks

EDIT: I forgot about the poly count...just don't make it too high, I will be displaying the entire thing on the screen at once in DBC, and I don't want too much slowdown. Probably no more than 1500 polys (does that sound about right?)

Holy cow! That's awesome!

I thought that everyone had given up on me

Good news for you dark coder: I got a job in college next semester so I can pay you for your work

Just a couple questions about the model:
-What is the resolution on the motherboard texture (the main circuit board)? Do you have a higher res? I was thinking maybe if you split it into 4 pieces with four seperate textures, I could use mipmapping on it so it would look better close up but not slow down too much...
-Do you have any memory or PCI cards for the slots...

That's really awesome! It does look a lot better with the new texture, I like green motherboards better than brown

I can't wait to battle robots on a motherboard

Could you email the model to me?
