Shiver me wotsits!
Ehr, a small little logic game I created this week. Pretty small, nothing spectacular. I made this game in qbasic many years ago, and basically I just felt the urge to remake it again... no sounds or music, i'm really wondering if I should really bother for a game this size? Opinions?
I'll hold off on actually giving the game a section on my site till I figure if sounds should be put in, but the game itself is finsihed really...

Game:
It's a simple little game of logic, you have a set number of tries to dig up a treasure chest buried somewhere on the island grid. If you find it, hoorah you win, if you don't, then you will uncover a marker (I hope you all know your roman numerals?) that will show you how many steps (without moving diaginally) away the treasure actually is... pretty simple, that's all there is to it really...

Controls:
Direction keys: Move
Space/Enter : Dig/select on menu
Ctrl/Shift : Change camera mode

I just got done playing it, I'll give you some goods and some bads..

Pros:
Original Idea
Good Scoring System
Good menu

Cons:
No sounds and music (like you said earlier)
Extremely Easy to beat (I beat it on huge map on my 2nd life)
Kinda Boring (no offense )

But I think its pretty cool actually, you really just need to make it harder and it would be a lot more fun. Good job keep it up.

Harder? Like less lives? Cos that's all I can do really heh
No offense taken at it being boring, it was whipped up pretty quick like I said

If nothing else, it has taught me much about matri... matrices?

Whu? I did? It's not an exe in the folder? o_O

*edit*
Downloaded myself to make sure I uploaded the right file, that there is the "final format". It won't matter if you don't have DBpro, or don't have any DB at all... it should work... wtf

I quote:
"Error" wrote: "Failed to load DLL (3: DBProSetupDebug.dll)"

so, if you can put it into final format(should be right under option for EXE format in Darkbasic, I dunno about DBP, but it is for DBC) then I'm sure it will work for me.

I have never had to select any such option in the past, and people who have nothing to do with Darkbasic have run me games fine

You got DX9? I know DBC can run on a lower version of DirectX than DBpro needs... maybe that is it?

Well For throwing the game together fast, I'd say you did a good job. I love the little pirate graphics, they crack me up.
