*hits head of desk*
a dll is a dynamic link library, you can make them in c++, delphi etc.

what do they do - in dbpro terms they add more functions to the language, in c++ terms it is a way of releasing code that other people can use with out giving away the source-code or leaving tthem to compile it

if you want to write a dbpro dll (called a tpc[third party command]) then look in the help system under technical documents and third part commands

Or just browse the titles of this forum, this has been asked hundreds of times in this forum. And their are many resources that are stickied on this forum. Also the technical documents, which Ian also suggested.

@zotoast:

i hit my head off my desk because it is such a noob question, if you search on google for "what is a dll" or somewhere like that you would find the answer quite quickly, not to mention all the other threads in dll talk that have basically the same title as this

@Zotoast

Please notice the "edit post" button under neath your date,location,name area. If you use that your post will magically change once you insert the new text. Try to not post 2 or more times in a row unless it is truelly needed.

Thanks,

but if you bump a thread just to have it higher in the forum, then at least make some type of 'important' message to post. Otherwise the users of the forums don't like it. And besides if you posted one minute you usually should wait until the thread falls by its self, then bump it. Becuase if you double post with in a minute of each other then it sort of gets dumb.
