I don't know how the hell it happened but I seem to have managed to get the Windows XP task pane stuck to the side of my desktop and am totally unable to get rid of it. Nothing works, you can't drag it right click it or anything. I have removed the task pane from My Computer and Windows Explorer but it still appears on the desktop. There is no option to disable it anywhere. The buttons on it seem to work though. I'm using XP Pro. Please help me, its getting on my nerves

Did you Google it?

And failing that, have you retraced your steps before it happened?

And, failing THAT, have you dug around in the Window's settings untill you got lost, and had about 14 options windows open?

Jess.

I'm not even going to answer that question

Here's the answer, very simple, be prepared...

Dun dun dun...

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

It works for me everytime, and has gotten me out of some nasty situations...

If that doesn't work, go suck a lemon and drown your sorrows.

Reinstall Windows? A bit excessive, maybe, but it'd fix it

You can't right click it for an options menu

System Restore does nothing

I can't find a lemon to suck
