Been working on this model for a week, made in 3dsmax 5 and has 2764 polyies in total. It still has a few texture seams (grrr) but its more or less done, tell me what you think

Apart from being ever so slightly high poly for a large game and the join between hair and head it is a brilliant model and texture.

Polycount is actually very good, considering it's already triangulated. DBP triangulates models automatically anyway, if they aren't already. So as long as you won't have 20 or 30 of him on the screen, he's good to go.

Definitly a great model! Reminds me a little of Sid Meiers Pirates, which I'm so heavily addicted to right now.

Yeah. That is what I meant. If the other characters/monsters are as high and you have multiple ones on the screen then it could cause slow downs. But as I said before; great model.

By using many many tutorials and using a lot of trial and error, I've been modeling for a few years now, shame i can't sell em with the student version of max *grumble*. http://www.3dtotal.com has some very nice tutorials

ahh the white joint between the hair is supposed to be transparent, still haven't figured out how to enable this in the renderer but it won't be there when loaded into DBP. Theres not gonna be many of these guys on the screen at a time, but even if there will be, i have LOD system designed to take off the burden. Enemies will have a poly count of around 800-1.5k, 2.5k-4k for the more powerful and rare ones, bosses etc

I have just finished my vampire model, i'l post it up here tomorrow

Great job there! Altough there might be a few areas you can remove a few polies that doesnt really do anything to support the model what so ever. You've also seem to have done quite a good job with the textutes.. any chance you can add a few more lights to the scene and do another render closer up on the face for me? I would really like to see how the texture looks at close up.. I dont have too much experiance with anything.. but who knows I might be able to come with some pointers.

One ponter I have to the model though; make the boots more solid.. and not so feet shaped.. add a sole to it or something to make it feel more like a boot.. atm it looks a bit more like a sock really

Anyway, great work overall keep it up

quite nice indeed.. I see something odd with the textures though.. unless he's suppouse to look very shocked or something.. I think you should bring his eyebrows down to where the bone starts over the eyesocket. The eyebrows start around where the nose ends.

Great models but the Vampire's eyebrows look like they're going to reach out and touch someone but It only appears that way if he faces the screen. *strange* I like it though.
