I have several weeks off, and am spending some time making 3D models. So far I have made about 400 models of all sorts (combined all categories), however, I can only post those I made in my modeler. I spend most of my time writing software, but I'm doing 3D on the side.

If you need free models for your games then visit my site. I will add several hundred more models in various categories when time permits. I typically model about any industrial object, with limited organic experience, and I do not do animations.

You may ask why I'm doing this for free - rewards for giving them away overweigh selling them (from experience) as do my games. I quit selling last year due to disgust at how much TurboSquid charges and how much consequently people like to charge for over-polygoned models.

Disclaimer, since these are my models, you can use them as you see fit - in games etc.. If you use them in games then just let me have credit. You also cannot sell these as your own as a package anywhere, but you can sell them in a game product. That's all.

teffo,

That is an awesome gesture on your part and I wanted to say thank you. If you're doing 3D "on the side" then you're one talented individual. Those models are great. Thank you again.

I added some more military planes. These are my first two days for modeling these military objects. Today I spend a few hours making about 11 or so F14 and a modified F14

Hope you enjoy these as I did making them - and they are all available. Oh and BTW - they are each about 500-600 polys!

Great models.
I also use truespace but I can't get texturing to work very well.
Possibly because I only have 3.2.

For texturing in TS6, I use the tools provided as well as uvcow on occasion. But as I understand it, complex organic models will require uvunwrap no doubt.

One extra tool that works for me is monster toolkit that comes with the TS6 addon. Real worth the extra bucks. TS3 is perhaps too old for modeling complex meshes.

Not really. I'm just hopeless at modelling!
I've tried LithUnWrap but that always gives me seams and parts of the mesh being covered by other parts and making them un-texturable.

Here's my second gun! This is a Scar, a nato assault rifle. Main texture map is planar, all others cylindrical.
The scope took about an hour including the texture. The whole project was 2 hours start-finish.

It's like Xmas again!

I like the look of the first load of planes, may put them to use if I get the chance

Trying to knock up a WW1 Britsh mk4-5 tank (with sperate side sponsons, so they can be blown off!), but quite as good looking as your lot!

Hi teffo
I've looked at your tutorials and found them very interesting,
how long does it take you to make a texture for say a plane?
Perhaps you do a tutorial on how to texture an aircraft.

Texturing is like modeling, an art by itself. What I plan on doing is writing a texturing tutorial soon. Some textures have to be drawn by hand (color pencil/ink), scanned, then modified in PSP then textured onto an object. I am still working on my technique...

I plan to make more planes such as the B52 and stealth bomber next.

Although I just thought of this - making simple buildings and texturing those via tutorials is probably within most people's capability. It's amazing what a good texture will do on a low poly model.
