Seem to have beaten him to the punch.. That's the learning edition version.. pretty much the same stuff is included.

Alot of places have the demo now.. it comes free if you have Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 on Disc3, as it is used for modelling and the ActorX plug-in is compatible with the PLE versions.

Although Maya(as far as i know) don't have any exports that are compliant with DB or DBP.

Well, the PLE edition doesn't, but I believe some of the more feature packed versions have an export to .x, if not a plug-in somewhere.
