Well I've been hearing a lot about maya being a great tool to use. I've also heard things about it being a complete nightmare (possibly because it so confusing) Then 3ds max is also a great tool. It has a easy to use UI, easy mesh editing and such. The downside of 3ds max, well I can't think of one.

Post your thoughts on which one is better and give a reason why, because to me 3ds max 6 kicks maya's rear. (No offense to Raven )

Between you and BL Ben, this forum will have only your names on the front page. Why not ask more than one question per thread instead of making a new one for every thought in your head? Or go back and look at old threads. There are plenty of Max vs Maya vs Blender vs etc. on this board.

Kind of you Jebus, though I've only posted 2 threads which you can't combine the questions because it wouldn't make sense. And I'm not Bl Ben, so don't compare him to me.

Mods Delete this thread please

Rather silly statement to make after not using Maya, or even learning Max to a degree where you can really see downsides.

3D Programs are alot like cars.. Each one does the same end result, the differences are how you use them to achieve similar performances. Some are more sluggish on control, others have no high-end umph.. Depending on your own personal style depends on what you can make of them and how much you prefer them.

From my point of view, I truely love driving my MG.. my step dad on the other hand hates it with a vengance and prefers his own Peugot. We have both passed our advanced driving training and are both capable of doing things in these cars that could bring out close to thier full potencial because of our skills with them.

On paper, my MG is technically superior to his Peugot.. but because he is uncomfortable with how it performs, he cannot achieve what I can. Same goes visa versa.

I don't think anyone can really make the whole situation much clearer than that. As Jebus notes, there are posts on this very subject already... some i've been a part of, some i've let run thier own courses.

For the record JeBus the posts you see are between a few days. Can you expect me to take a couple days worth thought and put it into one post you have as the song goes Another Thing Comin because thats not possible. And If your gonna cry over my Multi Idea mind than take It up to a Mod and ask him to delete some posts. It wont offend me at all just remember I might offend you!

Oh, and for the record, comparing a car to a 3d modeling program is a completely idiotic metaphor.

No, it's not really, because it all comes down to a subjective choice. They all do the same thing in different ways, and you just have to find the way that pleases you.

There's nothing stopping you from asking the new question in an old thread. Just make a new post in your last thread.

Well, it's probably your horrible grammar at fault, but I don't see an insult in there, which is probably best for you.

Anyhoo, yes, I do go back and read threads that I've read before, even if the original question has been answered. Simply because I'd be a hypocrite not to. If I advise people to continue posting in their old threads, even with new / unrelated questions, but never return to help them, I'd certainly be guilty of helping to perpetuate the cycle of 3-5 post threads.

That was his insult, and his grammer seems fine. Maybe you lack proper reading skills to understand what he is saying to you. Anyway, sorry to bring this post back up again. I really wish the mods would have locked it or something...
