I recently acquired a cat from my friend who had to leave for 2 weeks. It was a nice addition to the house except for two things: I have a bird and a dog.

I knew that dogs don't like cats, but I had to take in the cat anyways. The cat goes nuts every time the dog comes close(climbing on to ceilings, and trying to jump out of 17th floor. Oh yea, my brother just caught it by the tail, otherwise... well you know)

So cats are ok.. but dogs are still better, at least you don't have to earn their affection

@oh oh, Newbie Brogo is gonna kill me

Dogs rely on their owners. Dogs and cats can get on fine, we have 7 cats and 2 dogs and they don't fight..well okay theres was this time where the mother cat attacked teh big doggy because she thought he was trying to eat her kittens, but anyway.... the smaller dog used to play with the mother cat until she(the cat, not the dog, the dog didnt have babies - actually, neither did the cat, it had kittens) had babies. Now the dog plays with the younger cats

"Dogs are a gift from god while cats are a plague from hell"

It's well known that when a dog licks you, the saliva can heal up to 25 different illnesses while the cat's saliva is only infested with bacteria.

Wild cats are, and cats that don't have loving owners . Our oldest cat attacks all its young ones sometimes, but the young ones are so affectionat with eachother, and with us.

Quote: "cats CAN catch mice, I CAN also lift a train."

What does that mean?

Quote: "About the clean cats-when they lick all that dirt, it's in their mouth"

It is a well known fact a female housecat makes the cleanest pet.

I like dogs better because they show more emotion, they feel more like members of your family instead of just a pet.

Oooo, you're lucky you didn't post this a few days ago...

I made a new years resolution to put off world domination, and sending out cats to kill people until after the new years... (USA)

Well, look at it this way, you've got about an hour left to try and convince your cats to eat something other than you.

Anyways, on-topic...
Cats are always nice! When they have happy owners that are nice to them, they return the favor.
But if you're mean to the cat, get ready for a beating, and a visit from me.

We all know cats are the best! You barely have to lift a finger! They take care of themselves with their 3 basic needs.
-Sleep
-Eat
-More Sleep

I guess there is the occasional go outside if it's not a house cat...
But if it isn't a house cat like mine, she likes to stay out. Alot.
We let her in, she eats, we let her out again. Usually, unless she wants to eat...

And she will come find me, whereever I happen to be, and meow, and purr, and get petted, and do the little head rub thing.. You know the drill.

But like I said, start watching the American clock, or start talking to your cats more.

Oh you would hate my family, because we shoot the cats if the population at our house gets to big, but they are wild cats.

When i first got my cat i didnt know she was alergic to room deoderizor (she was stinky) so i would always spray it and spray it. then one day i woke up and rubbed my cat and all the hair rubbed off. of the head. it was funny but horrible
but shes ok now. that was 2 years ago.. i should have taken a picture.. but cats are the best. they dont bite u and make u bleed. although i have 2 dogs.. dogs are cool.. but cats ar the best. they got furry tongues (weird but cool) and purr

YOU SPRAYED IT??!!! Your not supposed to spray cats you moron.

I think its a matter of opinion which animal is the better pet. Dogs are faithfull, cats are independant .

Cats will more or less tolerate dogs if they are both introduced early in life - if not, then the changes of them living together are slim - genetics start taking over (the dog will want to chase the cat and the cat will want to run away).

Erm that is completely wrong, but whatever you say..

When we got the cat(it had been left by its mother and so someone brought it to us) the dogs didn't show the slightest interest.....okay maybe the smaller dog did . Because the cat was so small we kept it in a cage for a few weeks until it was bigger(bear in mind that this was a very big cage), so we wouldn't stand on it . Anyway after a couple of weeks the smaller dog(it was a terrier) got used to it and didn't want to eat it anymore.

Its only terriers you should have problems with, when you introduce them to cats .

Unfortunately that is also false. Whilst some dogs are more interested in cats than others you can never assume they wont be.

Well I call them wild cats, because they are scared of humans, plus when you have 6 of these good for nothing cats running around you house its about time to go cat hunting with old 20 guage, we just can't have that many untamed cats running about.

Guns arn't the problem, people are the problem, shoot all the people and guns arn't a problem anymore.

I suppose when theres too many cats you need to get rid of them. The nicest way would be to make the wild males infertile, but that takes time and money, and, how would you know which cats are wild and which are domestic?

Wait... Wasn't the egyptian god with the head of a dog the god of death...?

I can't remember, I haven't been studying much egyption mythology...

Last time I checked, cats were of a very high status.

Also, his head is either a dog, or a jackal. Which? Noooobody knoooows.. Ooo, creeeeepy.
Anubis was his namo 'o

Looks what I found on google

anubis and he was the god of death but he was the one who wayed your heart against a feather to see if you were worthy enough to go to their version of heaven and if your heart was hevier than the feather you were eaten by some kind of alligator thing

Ewww, that sounds nasty.

It seems throughout history, people in power had their cats.
And cats got a special mummy wrapping in egypt.

Quote: "In Ancient Rome, not a single cat's bone has been found at Pompeii, in spite of the fact that it was regularly visited by Greeks from Eygpt. Rome knew so little about the uses of the cat that their rough soldiers and their vain leaders never understood the feelings of Egyptians for their cats. Once when the Nile area was occupied by Caesar and his army, a Roman soldier was mobbed and murdered savagely in a street in Alexandria. The crowd, accusing him of having accidentally killed a cat, threw themselves on him, lynched him, and dragged his corpse the length and breadth of the town. Deaf to the Roman threats of severe reprisals, the Egyptians rose and resistance began. It did not stop until the deaths of Antony and Cleopatra, when Egypt, at last effectively defeated, became a Roman province; and the cat, formerly worshipped, was ostracized"

Sounds good to me

That's probably cause you play video games for too damn long to pay attention to your cats. Trust me, when my friend played San Andreas for 8 hours straight his cat got so pissed he tried to eat the Christmas tree and fell on the ps2. (Tree and all)

And yea cat's are social...when they feel like it. For example it sits on your lap when it wants to. But it won't sit on your lap when you want it to, no matter how many times you beat it with a crowbar.
