Yeah, you gotta check the mother board site, and make sure every part you've chosen out is compatible. You also have to make sure the mother board is compatible with the case too.

Here's a relatively cheap config (links and all), lacking keyboard/mouse/monitor/speakers, that I'm pretty sure is compatible with every other part in it:

Price is around $482 last I checked the prices (a couple days ago, though newegg might have upped the prices since it's not winter holiday time anymore), not including shipping and handling. But it's still a pretty nice computer for cheap, though the video card might need upgrading.

Cheers,
Preston

Well I'd suggest getting yourself a guide to the first time you do this, as unless you understand all the technical terms and alike; you may end up getting something that doesn't work correctly.

I've been building my own systems for years, and keep up with all the lastest technologies.. been caught in situations where I've been unsure about something and it's caused a problem.
To be perfectly honest, unless you are on the strickest of budgets; I'd suggest a pre-built system from a respectable supplier. As atleast then when something goes wrong it's thier fault not yours.

Alienware have some bloody awesome deals on currently
I'm really torn over alot of the systems they're selling, going to be getting a new one soon but, which one.. heh

best tip is to actually start from the motherboard. that way if you pick one, you have to find the right ram/cpu for it.

last thing you need is to buy something that dont meet the motherboard specs.

Looks good to me, but I'd make sure you have a manual for that motherboard so you know all of its quirks
