Long time 3ds Max user here. The program is great, but as it grows I find it is getting bogged down in itself.

Has anyone used both max and Cinema4d? The new interface and features of Cinema4d V9 look really nice. Are the controls as clean as they appear to be?

I am torn between an up grade or replacement.

Check out V9 and get back to me please. It is interesting enough for me to consider buying it instead of upgrading.

i used both of them but i got stuck with 3ds max. 3dSMAX it's harder to learn, more expensive(about 3000£) but better than c4d. Cinema 4D, is easier, cheaper (about 400£). I prefer 3dsmax, really...

have you guys used Maya? i've used about everything at least once and i think it's really good. not as convoluted with useless features that noone ever uses(although there are some).

What useless max features are you talking about? Just because you don't use them doesn't mean others don't.

Max just seems to bury some control deep in roll outs. I have used it since DOS and it seem to be getting a bit bogged down.

Dr Evil, I have glanced at it and even bought a book on it. I am having a Little trouble with when to use each of it's modeling tools. But my biggest trouble is texturing. Other parts of it seem to be incredible.
