Here's some screen shots.

Its not much, but I want to make a collection of board games on my site so I figured why not just make connect four real quick. So I did and it turn out well, it took about 8 hours from start to finish, but ohh well.

If you want to try it just wait a little bit because I'm waiting for this guy to host it for me. I already sent it to him, so he's just got to put it up and if you go to my site you'll find it there. So, it will be up shortly and let you guys know when.

Also, I'm now working on a remake of monopoly, I've already scanned all the real pictures from the game and I'm going to start writting some code either tonight or tommorow. I've also been working on my game Gina's Gems, but I'm taking a little break from it right now.

See Ya!

The screen shots aren't coming up for some reason, so just copy and paste the link into your address.

For now what do you think of the screen shots?

EDIT: I updated my site, but there's no downloading it yet.

No 1 player mode! There really is no point to a computer connect 4 if its only for 2 players. It is screaming for a computer player option. It is quite fun writing a computer player as you can put more and more AI in it the more you understand how to win.

Another annoying feature is that you clear the board when a player wins. Much better to leave pieces in view, highlighting the win line.

Keep it up. Good luck with Monopoly, it's more difficult than you think, specially coding a computer player. There are a LOT of rules to stick to.

Boo!

Thanks,

Ya, I guess it could use a 1 player option, just in case you ever get an urge to play Connect Four and don't have anyone to play against. Well, I'll guess I'll add one 1 player mode. It shouldn't be that hard.

EDIT: I fixed that little annoying feature and also made it so you can select from "Human Vs. Human" and "Human Vs. Computer". The AI system will be very basic, but at least there will be one, so just give me a sec.

Ok,

Here's what the AI system is going to be:

1.Check to see if com ai can win
2.Check to if com ai can block player
3.Look for some simple strategies
4.Pick a random spot

If one of the steps is done then it will then it will be the player's turn.

And thats about it. This should be completed by the end of today, I would of posted about this in the work in progess fourms, but I never planned on a AI system.

Sounds good.

A good site that explains the AI needed is here:

I never thought anybody would have something like that on their site. Their steps aren't too different from my steps. I have my first two steps already done.
