Hi,

i'm developing a FPS at the moment and i modelled a m4a1 with milkshape 1.7.2 and exported it as an x.-file.
I loaded it in darkbasic and positioned it in the world. All right.
But then i locked it to the screen to use it as an weapon and this (see attachment) happened. How do I make it right?

I guess that the problem is that the faces that should be visible are transparent and that you can see the other faces, the back ones... I had once that problem and I think it's due to a bad .x export with milkshape. Visit the 3D forum and look the thirth sticky, there is a visual explanation about how to export properly with Milk (only works with a bone in the object).

The other problem can be tat you see through the model cause it is at the middle of the cam and the faces desapear, try tomove it until it doesn't happen.

This could have been an intelligent sentence.

Make sure your camera range is set to 0.1

I usually have my camera range set like this.
SET CAMERA RANGE 0.1,5000

If that doesnt work try
SET OBJECT CULL Object Number,0

@Ian:

Both doesn't work. I can't use SET OBJECT CULL because I'm using DBC.
The camera range, says DBC has to be at least 1....

@Freakill:
Doesn't work either.
Do you know a free programm which can convert some file formats to .x (so i can make my models in milkshape, then export it e.g. to .3ds and convert it to .x)?

Greets,

The microsoft direct x sdk used to come with a tool called conv3ds that converts a 3ds file to x and its free.

Im not sure if you can download it on its own or if its still available for download, you should probably go to the microsoft site and search for conv3ds.

this will copy thugidle.3DS as a .X file to thugidle.X

Am I the only one here who's really confused?
