i "think" he meant to say that there's already a really cool dark basic game based on Rubick's cube... but that doesn't meen you can't make another!

Pretty good, i guess it just needs a cool track bumping in the background.

I like the background but it's kinda plain at the moment and you should add another option to control rotation using the mouse only rather than clicking those rotation buttons all the time.

Do you mean the rotation of the camera round the cube or the rotation of the faces.Also how many frames/sec are you getting on your computer.The top left figure is the frames/sec.

i meant the rotation of the camera around the cube.

i'm not at my personal computer right now but i think i was getting an fps of around 70+

P4 3.0GHz 1Mb cache
512Mb dc ram
256Mb Nvidia Graphics card

You can rotate the faces by left or right clicking on one of the six panals on the right of the screen.Use the middle square as reference as this colour never changes and this should be the final colour of the whole face.The sync rate of the programme is set at 50.

Here is an update to the game.I have changed the skybox and added background music.You can now rotate the faces by left or right clicking on the middle cube of each face.

Steady 55 FPS here. Looks cool. Could you add a function to randomly mix up the cube?

Thanks for your comments.I am actually working on this at the moment and will post again as soon as I am done.I have also done away with the buttons at the bottom of the screen.The camera is now turned by holding down either the middle mouse button,or the space bar,and moving the mouse.You will also see this in the next update.

Here is the latest update to my puzzle game.Left click with the mouse to jumble up cube at start.After it has jumbled up the cube left or right click on the centre cube of a face to rotate that face.Press middle mouse button ,or space key,and move mouse to rotate camera around cube.Let me know what you think.

My main computer is a Pentium IV 3.5Ghz - 1gb RAM - Nvidia Gforce Graphic card.

Second one is a P III - 333 - 512mb RAM - Intel Extreme (Graphic card)

I get a steady 55FPS too.. Which is wierd because it doesn't look like there is a lot going on to make it that "low"...

I have an AMD 3200+, Radeon 9800XT and 1Gb DDR400.

Nicholas.The frame rate is set in my programme at 50 frames/sec.I take it that this may vary a little when the game is run as I too get 55 frames/sec.

Why dont your release the limit? Or have you calculated all your speed, etc to work at 50fps only?

Everything is calculated to run at 50 frames/sec.I may well get round to running it at sync rate 0 and calculating a multiplier to set the speed regardless of the actual frame rate,but for the moment it remains locked at 50 frames/sec.
